That main one rolled low. Like, there's a channel energy buff for positive and negatives that works the same. You just spend two things at your charge, and it gives you 50% of the damage of it. And there's another buff that healing guy had who does 50% more healing. So he would roll, what, 3d6 for a heal, which would be like on a good day 12, and then you just add 6 to that. So that's 18, and then you add 9 to it. And so that's why he was saying fucking people for 30. It was fucking nuts.

I can counter it if I have that spell. So let's just say I go first. I hold my turn. I have fireball in my written down spells. Richard's casting fireball. I can counter it by using my fireball.
With the operations school at sixth level, you can do that as an immediate action. So you don't have to... hold your turn or go to the end of the queue.
You can do it once every like four levels after six.
you can not even have the fireball spell but you can waste if you don't have the fireball spell you can waste one level higher so if I have like teleport
and Richard's casting Fireball, I can just waste my teleport and still counter that.
Those are two different schools of magic though.

It gives you improved counter spell, but it means that you don't have to use the same spell, but you just have to use a spell in the same school. That's what the improvement is.
