Jake table talk

Chief.

Rich table talk

down the like yarn of the matter.

Jake table talk

Hahahaha!

Pat table talk

What were they, Jake? The what?

Pat table talk

Yeah. That's...

Pat table talk

having that

Ozan table talk

Irish-Japanese.

Jake table talk

Yeah.

Rich table talk

It's a night you say.

Jake table talk

Right. The shreds, you say.

Ozan table talk

Where's Nathaniel?

Rich table talk

Are you in the right chat, Jess?

Rich table talk

I'm muted.

Jake table talk

Oh, yeah. His government? Talk about his government, bro.

Pat table talk

Peanut butter.

Rich table talk

like the bus.

Ozan table talk

Where in the world are you, Jake?

Jess table talk

Thank you for being down to Move Nights, by the way. Y'all are amazing and wonderful people.

Jake table talk

Aim to please.

Ozan table talk

I don't actually know how we moved to Sunday. It like just kind of snapped there. I thought it was supposed to be on Tuesdays.

Pat table talk

I think it was, and then we all just would like, we missed it. And then we're like, well, we should just play Sunday because it's like the next day.

Jake table talk

And it's not a weekend.

Ozan table talk

Look at this attendance, though. It's like, what, 8, 11? And we got like six people on?

Pat table talk

Good job collecting all my candy for me.

Jake table talk

Yeah, exactly.

Ozan table talk

I think, where's Danny?

Ozan table talk

Must be about to race.

Pat table talk

It's a llama something.

Jake table talk

That's the law of something. Oh, shit. Oh, man.

Pat table talk

here for your sermon or are we going to play the end of the year?

Ozan table talk

Yeah.

Jake table talk

I was just warming up.

Ozan table talk

This is all part of the canon. Westboro is in there.

Pat table talk

He only spits on the mic before he starts.

Jake table talk

Ha

Jake table talk

This one's for all the bad jokes. Okay. Well, it looks like Donnie's not home, is he? We should just start without this motherfucker. I'll text him.

Pat table talk

That's what time it starts.

Nutty table talk

Well, Connor on? Connor should be right next to him.

Ozan table talk

Honor is on. Yeah.

Pat table talk

Yeah, I kind of live with that guy. Bang on his fucking door.

Ozan table talk

See, look at this. Good deduction here. Although, is Connor on, though?

Nutty table talk

As I was wondering, he's quiet, so...

Ozan table talk

You know what always fixes this? Messenger.

Jake table talk

Connor was just on. He was having Mike Charles.

Jake table talk

I made my laptop so I could just like, boom, open up and have all the D&D shit pop into the window. And I do not have that for this. But I have two fucking sexy-ass screens looking at me, so...

Connor table talk

Right here.

Jake table talk

That's what I'm happy about.

Connor table talk

Can you guys hear me?

Jake table talk

I can hear you.

Pat table talk

A little bit. You're kind of quiet.

Jake table talk

Yeah, the words are puto.

Connor table talk

I am.

Ozan table talk

That wasn't the question, homie.

Jake table talk

Check your pockets.

Ozan table talk

Yelp, Donny!

Ozan table talk

Do you not hear us?

Ozan table talk

I mean, Jake, at least set the scene while we wait. We can catch Donnie up.

Jake

All righty. Well, you guys are on the... I'm pretty sure you...

Jake

Everybody was here in the last session. So, You are all on the walls of Godoy, overlooking a city that has just started to take flames. The fire is starting to spread throughout the city. Ozan actually did a pretty solid picture in the chat of what the fuck is happening.

Jess table talk

last week.

Jake

It's just overlooking everything, and all you guys can see from the top of the city is a giant blue orb that went up. It's basically covering the Capitol building and a couple surrounding things inside the forts. It's a

Pat

Like a dome of protection.

Jake

And yeah, I was trying to think of the word for dome in Spanish. But anyway, so yeah, it's a multi-walled city. So the outer layer has got a wall and the inner layer has got a wall. And inside that inner layer that is covered in a giant blue dome, of electric light

Pat

Looks like it's protecting it.

Jake

Yeah. I mean, it doesn't look like it. I mean, you all know it is.

Pat

because it's like those buildings aren't on fire

Jess

to death.

Jake

A bomb goes off in the city. Right. Bomb goes off in the city.

Jess

Does that sound like in reaction to Pat's spell?

Jake

And you and Jess, you are you are correct to blame him.

Pat

at auto-triggering defenses.

Pat

That's my fault.

Connor

They're kind of like that.

Ozan table talk

but does rich and just know what happened

Ozan table talk

anyone already catch them up.

Jake table talk

No. Yeah, you guys catch up.

Nutty table talk

I think it's Donnie's the one who isn't aware of what's going on.

Jake

Richard helped everybody out. Richard saved y'all asses.

Ozan table talk

All right, yeah.

Nutty table talk

Yeah, it was like Donnie and his lady, I think.

Rich table talk

Did you save our agreement?

Nutty table talk

But just missing more.

Jake

So that's sort of That's what's happening right now. To...

Ozan

We need to have like a team meeting here, I think, because are we getting out of here or what?

Nutty

Last I checked, we were camped outside, weren't we?

Connor

I mean, we just blew up a city. I think we need to get the hell out.

Ozan

I'm scared, yeah.

Nutty

Can't we camp outside and get our spells back?

Ozan

What?

Rich table talk

We see you in the end.

Jess table talk

See you, Nia.

Pat

I don't feel like going to jail for an errant casting.

Jess

Transportation options.

Jess

see a wagon near about the horse.

Nutty

You looking at the wizard?

Ozan

This is where flying carpet would get handy.

Pat table talk

I could get handsy.

Rich

Honestly, once we get another couple levels up, we can just make our own. Be half as much. We're almost there.

Pat

Yeah, but the fucking carpet race is happening pretty fucking soon.

Ozan

We're sitting on the wall having this discussion. You know, we can get into the corporate business.

Rich

In the burned down husk of a city?

Pat

I'm not joining up the carpet business. Ozon's right, man. We got to move on. It's your father's thing.

Ozan

I'm for it, man. Like, this is a traumatic experience.

Rich

I'm not opposed to moving on. I just, I didn't think the carpet race was perfect.

Pat

I'm not opposed to getting into the carpet industry.

Jess

races here.

Connor

I'm more afraid of the repercussions of, you know, just blowing up the fucking city. So I think we need to go to some place where they don't know us.

Nutty

Hey, no one knew who did that.

Jess

That's a...

Ozan

Yeah, there's hardly got to trace it to us.

Pat

I'm going to cast Alter Self.

Jess

Let's talk. The magic...

Rich

The Max...

Nutty

Anyone who saw that spell go off is dead.

Ozan

Right. We did rob this thing. And we're in the news. Our pictures are in the news and the city blew up.

Jake

Pat, what you looking like?

Nutty

are in our party.

Pat

Oh man, I want to look like Brock Sampson.

Rich

To be fair, a lot of those posters burned away, so there's not as much evidence.

Ozan

But I bet that's out in other cities. So...

Ozan

a happy line of people, I think. It's safe to assume.

Ozan

So it might be difficult to sign up for the race, but... Maybe we could just go and check it out to see if we're famous or not.

Ozan

I guess we should figure out if we're famous because if we're famous, we're probably pretty famous now for destroying a city.

Jake

You know what, Ozan, give me an inside check.

Pat

How many more...

Ozan

and insight.

Pat

What was that?

Jake

Oh, there's no insight?

Ozan

Let's see, I mean,

Ozan

wisdom

Ozan

perception, I guess that's insight, right? It's just perceiving thoughts instead of

Jake

Right. Inside. That's what I meant. Or no, that one.

Ozan

Perception?

Jake

Perception. Actually, everybody roll your perception check, to be honest.

Ozan table talk

See you next time.

Jake

Perception is more outside what you perceive. It's not inside.

Pat

I don't actually just read the bones. I don't really pay attention to my surroundings. But I got a second.

Jake table talk

Ozan, UC, anybody, yeah.

Jess table talk

and have

Pat

a couple bones and a cup I carry with me, Jake, and I'm trying to see what's happening.

Ozan

What about knowledge nature?

Connor

because it's not adding my modifier.

Jake

I gotta take a look at the character sheet, because there's gotta be something for that. The intimacy, the into me I see check. You know that you are famous. You have to be. I mean, the shit you did was technically legendary, and you know you're no legend yet. So, somebody's watching. Yeah.

Pat

Is that me?

Pat

That's what I get from reading the bones.

Jake

Yeah.

Pat

Cool.

Jake

You know your group rocked, but you didn't rock as a unit.

Ozan

using your common sense.

Jake

Right now, you guys see five mages flying in a V. passing over you in a loop over the city wall.

Jake

and passing you.

Jess

We should go.

Ozan

As you go? Yeah.

Rich

and passing us, like, they don't seem to care.

Jake

Right.

Jess

Okay. That's cool.

Ozan

Hat rolled a natural one. Knowledge planes.

Pat

where's that, the turbine that was like a knot full of souls anymore. Did we put that back in our backpack? Where is that?

Ozan

Yeah, I haven't.

Pat

Okay, great.

Ozan

You want to fill it up with some souls? I think there's buttons on it. You give it two souls, it turns to tonic.

Pat

I want to roll a knowledge arcana to try, or maybe a knowledge arcana and engineering mixed together. However you want me to do this, Jake. I want to figure out the mechanism for refilling souls or see if I can glean something based on anything I've ever read about constructing equipment like this.

Jake

Okay, not a problem. I...

Ozan

Is this what you're...

Pat

I got 18 plus 12 for 30 on knowledge Arcana. And I got a 15 on knowledge engineering.

Jake

That's right.

Pat

I don't know if it's religious, but I'm going to throw some religion in there too.

Jake

you know if you're tossing a little religion some spice hell yeah Put a little bit of hate in that. That's all religion means. It's like, just give me some rules that people made before me that don't really work in the real world. That'll do it.

Pat

Basically, I'm trying to see if this thing is like... I just want to know how to put souls in this bitch. It seemed pretty tight when it was charged, and I want that motherfucker recharged.

Jake

Okay. No, yeah, I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you, little hungry bird.

Ozan

I think last time he said there's a suck souls button. You just push that, you know?

Jess

any soul? Like, or does it need to be like an orphan child soul?

Pat

Yeah, like what's the quality of soul on this one? Like old grandpa who's on his deathbed, is that as good as someone who doesn't want to go to the box?

Jake table talk

Patrick.

Jake

It's

Ozan

all the same in that yeah

Jake

Pat, you just know, pencils down, you just know that...

Nutty table talk

You dogs have tolls?

Connor

I don't know.

Jake

It is, it's made of material, you know, like you can kind of like tell the material that it's made of, but on that natural one for the planes, you got nothing.

Pat

I didn't roll an actual one on planes, did I?

Ozan

He

Pat

Oh, I rolled planes.

Ozan table talk

at whisper airplanes.

Pat

I didn't mean to replace it.

Pat

Yeah, it was for airplanes, Jake.

Jake

Oh, my bad. Pat, just check out the plateaus.

Pat

So this is something to do with planes. Interesting. Can I try that?

Jake

Jess, since you rolled... Since you rolled... Okay. Okay.

Ozan

It exists in the other plane as well. This is something that we know about the device. It actually crosses over planes.

Pat

No, go ahead.

Jake

Jess, since you rolled a natural 20, on knowing the object and what it does, go ahead and give me a planes arcana and engineering check.

Pat

Tied.

Ozan

I think thinking maybe it sucks the souls into another plane or something.

Ozan

precious them.

Jess

30, not a natural 20.

Jake

It could be a planes and engineering check as well.

Pat table talk

Those are great.

Pat

Get rid of the fucking box.

Jake

All right, with those, you can feel that right now the device is getting warm.

Jess

Oh.

Jake

It's heating up. Once the spell is used and it's all done in black, one of the valves on the side of the cylinder is open and there's nothing at the bottom. It's just an empty case.

Jake

And like I said, it's starting to get a little hot. Like... Like. Like your coffee at the perfect temperature in the cup to drink and you only have like a couple seconds to drink it, but it's in your hands and you feel like it's like that. Like you can barely tell it's like hotter than the average temperature.

Jess

I tell the class. Everything that you just said. Guys. This thing's getting hot. There's a chamber. That appears to be empty. And yeah. Everything you said.

Pat

Mm-hmm.

Connor

Did we figure out how to fill this thing up?

Rich

Is the whole thing still burning down, or did it fill back up with the people that its own spell... Caused to die.

Jake

It's not glowing green anymore.

Connor

I don't think it's full yet.

Jess

That's the salt.

Rich

This is also pretty fucking evil.

Pat table talk

Hey, Rich, did you ever get that?

Jake

it's not as evil. It,

Connor

I think we need to

Rich

Should be a little careful of this one.

Jake

Richard, it's like a gun on the table. It's like the gun's not evil. It was made with a purpose. But...

Connor table talk

Pencils don't misspell words.

Pat table talk

Which did you ever get that described there?

Jess table talk

Chekhov's magic nuke.

Jake table talk

Ha.

Pat table talk

Did you ever get that scrying mirror, Rich?

Rich table talk

I did.

Pat table talk

Did you get two or just the one?

Rich table talk

Jake, did I find two?

Jake table talk

He wouldn't pay for it.

Pat table talk

Can I borrow yours?

Rich table talk

I alluded for after the

Jake table talk

Sorry.

Pat table talk

It's all good. Can't bar your mirror.

Jake table talk

I have been hyped.

Rich table talk

Absolutely.

Pat table talk

You better fucking hope I don't break this fucking thing.

Rich

It's made of fucking silver. It's going to be hard to actually break.

Pat

Oh, it's true. It's true.

Jake

It's got a hardness.

Pat

Yeah. Okay.

Rich table talk

Don't, don

Pat

I won't break it. So, Scrying takes an hour to cast. At some point when we have an hour, I want to check up on old fucking Cadillac Daddy-O.

Rich

We should absolutely get out of here before we try to start that process, though.

Pat

Yeah, 100%.

Jess

Let's walk down. Let's just walk. Let's do this. I start moving.

Ozan

Walk where?

Pat

Yeah, where should we go? The whole town's burnt... maybe outside of town like a tent i got a hammock i'm good

Rich

Yeah, I love that. leave the town. Newtown!

Pat

I agree.

Ozan

Jake, we go towards the next town over.

Pat

Is there like

Jake

Well, there's three. There's Ukendafar, there's Olingad, and then there's Lutathal, which is top.

Pat

Loot it all, dude. I'm going to loot it all.

Connor

Yeah, it sounds like a gambling city.

Pat table talk

Yeah, dude. Sounds like Vegas, like a casino town.

Jake table talk

It's Luterol, but, you know.

Jake table talk

Everyone's awake, bro.

Connor table talk

Sleep for the week.

Pat table talk

She never sleeps.

Jake table talk

Their vision's blurry.

Pat table talk

The sound's used up. We need another one.

Jake table talk

laughs

Connor

Yeah, let's go to Luderall.

Jake

It's about a two days march. It's a little north. It's right next to the Pearl Mountains.

Jake

That is actually where the magic race is being hit.

Pat table talk

defeated self-destroying. Anyone else want to change route or is this not okay?

Jess

We want to be in a public space after what just happened.

Pat

We should probably change our clothes and shit.

Ozan

Yeah.

Rich

Yeah. How far away is this?

Jess

No way is the next one.

Pat

And the stores are all burnt to the ground.

Jake

It's about, I want to say, two and a half days March.

Jake

That's a road.

Jess

Cool, we'll change that camp.

Jake

I mean, Godoy is like damn near the capital city. of

Jake

well, it's not really a capital city in the place because the place, it's still, it's, you're still on changelings, but you're right outside the troll mountains. Beautiful city.

Jake

And it's blowing up because carts are heading in both directions. And that's kind of where traffic's going into. It's like, you know, it's like the mornings. You see everybody cross the bridge and shit because there's events happening. And, you know, Magic Carpet Race is there.

Jake

So especially this time of year, everyone's going to go see the death march.

Jake

People travel from all around.

Pat table talk

That's March.

Pat

Is that the name of the race?

Jake

No.

Pat

What's that margin?

Jake

And Death Barts is, I guess, what happens when Is that true when battalions go together and they know they're going to war and they go through a single formation down a road?

Pat

Mmm.

Jake

You can get bombed easily and shit.

Rich

So march our half passes down for a day and then set a camp.

Jake

Me

Pat

I think so, man.

Pat

How long until sunset?

Jake

It's nighttime right now. You just hit night. Just sundown.

Pat

As we're leaving the town, and we see the road, are there any people who are also leaving the town? Because, like, it just, like, you know?

Jake

they're moving out, fire alarm status.

Pat

we've got like people and like carriages and like horses and shit, like whatever survived kind of refugeeing.

Jake

Yeah, anything the town couldn't put on their backs, dude. This shit is on fire. This is an evacuation of the city. There is nothing planned for that. Once you hit a city with a giant bomb, there is literally no help coming. And there is all evacuations. We have fresh immigrants.

Jake

Yeah, when's your city's bomb, guess what? You're automatically a fucking immigrant.

Pat

We're joining the immigration line going to loot it all.

Jake

Right. Yeah.

Pat

Yeah.

Pat

we want to do that or do we want to like take a different route go

Jess

as ourselves.

Connor

No, we should definitely ask the townspeople that we just made homeless. Figure out if

Jake

If you take a ride, you're in the immigration line. This is leaving the city. Congratulations, you just made the people who are alive homeless.

Connor

We should figure out if they know us, you know, the immigrants, because, you know, we did just make them homeless.

Jess table talk

Is there a river in your house?

Rich

River nearby.

Ozan

I swap out my plate armor to my robes and I intentionally try to disguise myself, put some dirt on my face so I can slip in.

Jake

Okay, we got two disguises and Rich.

Rich

Using my sleeve of many garments to change my clothes and to also use my hat of disguise to change my hat. Put on...

Jess

using

Rich

different mask yeah

Jake

Excellent. So is it a mask or is it a hat? That's redundant and shit.

Rich

All of the things. Well, it turns into all of the things. It turns my hat into

Jake

Like a helmet...

Rich

It can turn into a helmet. I don't think it provides any actual protection, but for aesthetic purposes, it can.

Jake

I was going to say, I was like, I was like, cause there's two things, you know, there's, it's the poor man's disguise self, which would be changing your hat and clothes. Because you don't really change your nose or your facial features.

Rich

just disguise self and I since I had my face covered the whole time I can choose to do what I want with my face at this point so yes I turn it into a helmet

Jess table talk

kind of unempowered.

Rich table talk

kind of unimpressive shabby metal helmet.

Jake

I was going to say, I was like, one of the best disguises is disguise self and just taking off all your clothes. You're obviously not that motherfucker, you know?

Jess

Gonna pull my winter cloak sort of hood over my face. So you just can't see my face unless I look up at you. But I'm also gonna vote for like not going with the crowd and just being laying low. Here's one vote for that.

Jake

Okay, well, as the pack's walking, everybody's kind of doing that in the march. They're only together in the larger sense. It's just a bunch of little cliques together, like walking together. Talking what they can. Some are in families. Some are in guilds.

Jake

bankers crying because their money melted.

Ozan

We lost our bar.

Jess

Jake, is there a river nearby?

Rich

Jake is there.

Jake

I'm gonna say yes, there is. Give me a role, your knowledge local.

Jake

Yeah, you know it's on your east a little bit, coming down from the mountain.

Jake

There was a river close.

Jess

I suggest, does the river go where we're going?

Jake

Yeah, you're going... upstream, technically.

Jess

Okay, I suggest that we ride in style with my handy dandy boat.

Pat table talk

Don't say floating, but...

Ozan

I have a boat.

Jess table talk

It's a folding fucking boat pass.

Pat

We have a fucking boat.

Jess

Yeah.

Pat table talk

You guys, you guys, I don't know who knows. That's what I was about.

Jess table talk

I fucking love the folding book. One of my favorite fucking items.

Ozan

You say you have a folding boat?

Pat table talk

She's got to fuck about.

Pat table talk

It's pretty tight. We've never used it, which is unfortunate.

Jess table talk

Holding boat!

Jess table talk

Right? I'm always wanting to use it.

Rich table talk

Right. I'm a,

Rich table talk

I genuinely missed the instant fortress.

Pat table talk

Are we going the way... Are we going the way of the river as if we could take the boat and have it work great? Or is it one of those where we take the boat and it's a bitch?

Pat table talk

upstream downstream

Jake

You're traveling upstream because the mountains are there. Mountains are up top. So if you were to get in the boat, you'd be traveling upstream.

Jake table talk

Very good question. I was like, yeah, get in the boat, dude.

Pat table talk

need some goddamn power.

Ozan table talk

And

Rich table talk

Okay.

Jake table talk

Sex and the Mountains. Geologically speaking, it makes perfect sense.

Jess table talk

Yeah. Full luck.

Ozan table talk

Harry's 15 with ease.

Jake

And that river, yeah, perfect.

Pat table talk

I can go camping the boat.

Ozan

You know how to sail it, right?

Ozan

What do we do?

Ozan

Is it a sailboat or a rowboat? Oh, oars. No, it has oars. Five set of oars.

Pat

Is it like a robot? Does it have like sails? Can you go on there?

Jess

This almost sounds like a bit much. So the box unfolds itself rapidly to form a boat 10 feet long, 4 feet wide. If I say a second word, it becomes like a naval ship, but we're not doing that, probably. It says in its smaller form, it has one pair of oars, an anchor, a mast, and a sail.

Ozan

Let's do it. Let's do it.

Pat table talk

What?

Jess

So wind matters as far as the feasibility of all of this, but maybe we can just walk.

Pat table talk

A deck cabin.

Ozan

Large farm boat. Let's go. I'll be on the oars. I got strength.

Pat

The ship carries 15 with ease.

Jess

Yeah, but that's the ship, which is 24 feet long, eight feet wide and six feet deep. So if the river is any shallower than six feet, we're going to like run aground.

Ozan

No, this must be a major river. It's a huge city.

Jess

We know that, though, so I don't want to ruin my foldable boat.

Pat table talk

Yo. Are there any...

Ozan table talk

Jake, is the river big, Jake?

Jake

The river is pretty big because the lake is pretty huge. And that's just that I'd say you guys are traveling the main river. So the main route from where the snow melts off the mountains into it. They had a pretty healthy good snow this year. And so the river mouth is wide, but it is fast.

Pat

I'm looking at the people on the road and I'm trying to find any kind of wizard that I can see or a group of mages or anything. Basically, I'm trying to find someone I can buy a spell from. Maybe they're a refugee who has their book with them because there's a neat spell that would help us in this situation.

Pat

I don't see anything like that.

Ozan

Is there like a spell stand nearby?

Pat

Well, just someone who looks like a wizard.

Ozan table talk

Here's my song. Wait, what spell are you looking for?

Jake

Yeah, you see just basically a cart with a bunch of urns in it, and they're all neatly stacked. And then you just see a kid on the back with a little crumpled up long hat. And he's using his staff and he's like, It's glowing purple at the tip and he's pointing it on the ground. It's glowing while the horse cart's being pulled.

Pat

A kid?

Jake

Yeah, about like 15, 16.

Pat

Okay, well, maybe. I go over there and ask me

Jake

Roll me knowledge arcana.

Pat

24.

Jake

Yeah, he's using a guide spell to track

Jake

So anyone who's out of the city, he can just, they'll know the path.

Pat

All right, well, I roll up and I ask him if he will be willing to sell me a spell.

Jake

He's like, hey, mister.

Pat

Hey little guy. You happen to sell spells?

Jess table talk

you sure

Jake

I mean, I don't really know how to sell spells. You want to copy them off my book or something? Because I don't get my tone to anybody.

Pat

Yeah, man. That's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a spell called skeleton crew. So I'm gonna skeleton crew to like man a ship. That's what I'm looking for. You got that shit?

Jake

I don't know about that. It's a little bit of a prayer grave. What did you want again?

Pat

Skeleton Crew. You happen to have learned that one on your travels, little guy?

Jake

He's like, Dad, and he's just dancing in front. He's like, do you have skeleton crew? And he's like, are you talking to fucking people back there? Boy, I told you, keep your goddamn mouth shut and crack our position.

Pat

I'm just curious, would you be willing to sell me a spell if you got that one? I know you guys are busy. I just, I can just copy it over.

Jake

You got a spell called repair my fucking house?

Pat

I mean, not really, but, you know, thoughts and prayers and stuff, I've got those, and we're all going to the same place. Like,

Jake

He's like, boy, take the reins. Then they switch places. He's like, I'm fucking sorry about that. I didn't mean to lash at you. You're probably just like us, too. Where are my manners? I'm good.

Pat

Yeah, man, we're all victims on this shitty fucking day.

Jake

My name is Gustav. He reaches out his hand.

Pat

It sucks.

Pat

I've got a start.

Jake

He's like, so... You want a spell called Skeleton Crew?

Pat

Yeah. You got that?

Jake

Are you a wizard?

Pat

Yeah.

Jake

He's like, Wizards are all the same. If I had a spell called Skeleton Crew, do you think my boy would be out here? Tracks of spells and shit. You think anybody else would be having spells on their back? We'd be using that spell to get our ass to another city.

Pat

So that's a no?

Jake

Sorry, I was being a dickhole again. My bad. I told my wife I'd be a better man. So that's it. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. That's a no. That's a no. I'm sorry. Maybe they got some... Apparently the first ones out of the city were some of the storekeepers and some merchants most likely coming back. If you had a head of the group, there should be some people probably coming in that could have something like that, but not us.

Jess table talk

There's a baby that is very interested in white women.

Pat

All right. Thanks for nothing.

Jake

Yeah, well, go fuck yourself. Sorry. I'm sorry. Sorry.

Pat

No, go back to the group.

Ozan table talk

All right, so both time.

Connor table talk

I mean, yeah. I thought the point of getting the skeleton true was to have it manned about.

Ozan

Well, you know, we also have our bodies to throw at the problem.

Jess table talk

about Vance.

Ozan

And I think we have enough to man the ship.

Pat

How many we got?

Jess

What do we got?

Jake

You got six here, eight in total, because Jess and, I mean, Jess, Aisling and Donnie are here but not here.

Ozan

six

Jake

They're little floating arms.

Connor

We've got people to main it, right?

Jake

As far as I know, technically, if you have more than two people, you can man a vote.

Pat

We can always just knock out and rest and regain our spells on the belt first. Then we can try. Or we can just try through the night.

Pat

I don't think resting would be a bad idea, though.

Jess

Yeah, is there, like, a tree line or something to block the wind? Like, is there a forest we can maybe shelter, camp in? Okay.

Ozan

Can we go to the river, find a secluded place to camp for the night, and then in the morning get up and use the boat to go to where we're going to go? Jake?

Jake

I'm going to say...

Pat

so you can just pop the boat open and then we just...

Jake

That's fine with me.

Rich

I actually have a spell for this.

Pat

Just pop.

Ozan

We do that.

Pat

Up the boat open and fucking anchor that bitch, dude. You got a cabin in that shit.

Ozan

There's a cabin in it.

Jake

Right. You don't need a, you really don't need tense when you can just be like, boat appear. And then it appears and you're like, yeah.

Pat

You can.

Jess table talk

We had a thing.

Rich table talk

we had an anchor.

Ozan table talk

Oh, shit. That's nice. Fuck yeah.

Pat

The ship version has a cabin.

Jake table talk

That's pretty sweet. The boat on land? Damn, dude.

Ozan table talk

I love this boat. You have a name for your boat?

Jess

I mean, are you asking for its summoning word?

Jake table talk

You put her on the spot, dude.

Ozan table talk

I'm just asking what your bloat's name is.

Pat

morning, I'll cast this on the boat. It lasts an hour level. We'll fly there.

Pat

I don't have it right now. I have to prepare my spells.

Jess table talk

Nessie, my boat's name is Nessie.

Pat table talk

It's named Yahtzee.

Ozan table talk

Messi? Yahtzee.

Jake table talk

Netsy.

Pat table talk

Nothing. Yachty's a pretty giant pro boat.

Jake table talk

It's also a pretty sweet summoning word. Fucking yucky.

Pat

What's the command word? Yahtzee.

Jess

The summoning word is boat.

Jake table talk

Boat make me better! Does your boat have a little brontosaurus neck on it on the front?

Jess table talk

Absolutely.

Ozan

What's your boat look like?

Jess

I mean, are we summoning a ship or a boat?

Pat table talk

Yeah, Josh.

Ozan table talk

I think a ship boat seems kind of too cozy.

Pat table talk

Chip.

Pat

Yeah, man. Ship says it holds 15 with ease.

Jess table talk

That's, yeah. What was I thinking?

Jake table talk

Yeah, nobody wants to drink on a pontoon.

Jess table talk

Yeah, we're not all sleeping on a rowboat. Yeah, it's pretty good craftsmanship, got kind of a Viking feel to it, if you will, you know, like, yeah, and definitely a Ressie-esque, like, front seat.

Jake table talk

Long.

Jess table talk

Front thing. It's not called a mast, but you know what I'm talking about.

Pat table talk

I don't know what you're talking about.

Jess table talk

the front thing.

Ozan table talk

It's a fun thing. Yeah.

Jess table talk

And yeah, there's like quarters underneath and shit. Because good space.

Ozan

All right. Well, let's get into Nessie's cabin then. Cozy up for tonight, right?

Connor

Yeah, we need to bring the rest.

Jake

It's right in the middle of the road.

Ozan

Nah, man. Are you kidding me?

Jake

So there's basically a there's a small tree line on a couple sides.

Pat

No.

Ozan

Yeah, Jake, that's what we do.

Ozan

We find the nearest officer.

Jake table talk

Ha.

Pat

I mean, we could just put that bitch in the water and throw the anchor down.

Rich

Oh, no. Oh, hell yeah. I can set up a tiny hut. How big is the tiny hut? 20 foot radius.

Pat

Is it as big as a 15-person fucking boat? Like a ship?

Ozan

I mean, let's take the boat onto the river.

Rich

Now,

Connor

So we get the boat, throw it in the water, rest up for the night.

Ozan

Yes, yeah.

Rich

about drift.

Ozan

has an anchor.

Jess

Not with an anchor.

Rich

Yeah.

Jake

Yeah, it's a riverbed. So it's like, even if you do drift, it's going to catch something.

Ozan

Jess, what's your character? What race or what thing it is? Is it? Is it human?

Jess

What thing am I? I appear human-ish. I'm a changeling. Not a doppelganger, but a changeling.

Jake

Yeah, Jess, what do you people look like?

Ozan

Yeah, do you look like a sailor?

Jess

changelings, I mean, my understanding is that they look pretty human unless you like look at them askance.

Jake table talk

Yeah, they're water casks.

Jess

Yeah, we're the children of witches, well, hags, really, and people, humans. So we look human-ish.

Ozan

And you've used this boat before?

Pat table talk

For the third degree, man.

Jess

Tons of times.

Ozan

See, yeah, it'll be fine. We just sleep on the boat.

Jess

Are you challenging me?

Jake

Kind of sounds like it.

Jess

Think I'd lie?

Jess

Put us all in peril.

Ozan

saying i'm not telling rich this isn't the first time we're doing this you know just gonna go sleep on the boat

Jess

No, man, we're safe.

Pat

Sleeping on the boat.

Ozan

Sleep on a boat. Boat nap.

Jake table talk

Damn, there ain't nothing like a good boat nap.

Ozan

hey can we do a boat nap an eight hour boat nap please

Jess

Is anyone going to keep watch?

Ozan

Yeah, let's take 12 hours to do the egg thing. I don't know what the calculation is, but 12 hours seems enough, right?

Pat

Yeah, I'll keep watching.

Jess table talk

I mean, don't we have to, like, get to the river first? Aren't we...

Rich table talk

Probably.

Ozan

Yeah, we walk down to the river, and then we take about 12 hours to all rest.

Jess table talk

Okay, I wasn't sure. I didn't know we'd done that part already. Anyone?

Rich

Does anyone want me to craft stuff for them?

Pat

Oh.

Ozan

Oh, you're not. Oh, wait. You don't need sleep, right?

Ozan

All right, can we just take eight hours to rest then? You look at it and, you know. What are you crafting?

Rich

Oh, that's if you guys need anything crafted, like...

Ozan

I don't know. What do you know how to craft?

Pat

the magical wonders items.

Rich

I can do up to four Cloaks of Resistance level one at a night. But, you know, I have no money, so you'll have to pay for it, and then I make it for you.

Pat

oh hey speaking of money what do we get from the whole endeavor with cadillac right falling asleep

Connor

It was $1,500 each.

Pat

a piece.

Ozan

It was every penny he had on him.

Pat

Okay, I do borrow that mirror, and if we could do nine hours of rest, that'd be tight, because I'm going to use my scry spell I prepared before I switch my spells out. And I'm going to scry on old Mr. Cadillac.

Jake

All right.

Pat

So scrying takes an hour to cast, lasts seven minutes.

Pat

I use a pool of water and a silver mirror, and I observe a creature at any distance. If the subject succeeds on a will save, it fails. The difficulty of the save depends on how well your knowledge of the subject and what your sort of physical connection, if any, is it. If the subject's not going to have a plan, it gets a plus five. If it fails, you can see in here the subject and its surroundings. approximately 10 feet in all directions subject if the subject moves sensor follows 150 feet as with all divination spells it has my full visual acuity blah okay

Pat

You can cast some spells through it. So essentially a DC 20 will save.

Jake

Yeah, you get it. He's got a high will too.

Pat

look into the fucking pool of water and I'm looking at fucking

Pat

Fucking Cadillac. What do I see?

Jake

Cadillacs at home.

Jake

You, I, I'm going to say you don't see through his eyes, right?

Pat

No. Basically, it's like a sensor that follows them, and it gives you the ability to see, the ability to...

Pat

I think it's here too. Or is it just seeing...

Jake

Yeah, you threw a spell on chat. That's right.

Jake

Pages.

Jake

I'm going to say you fought him in combat.

Pat

you can see a particular creature you see and hear.

Jake

You fought him in combat, so you know him pretty well. So I'm going to give you a little bubble around him.

Jake

You see him getting up out of bed. He's got a naked lady next to him. He gets up out of bed and he's got just the most ridiculous pajamas. Like we're talking classic, like just pajamas with a long hat. And some slivers. And he's going and he's like, and he's writing down in his journal for the shit to do the next day. You see him writing his manifesto. You see him...

Jake

Just doing a couple entries like check-in with all the mages who went out on the on the rescue mission plans for rebuilding the city and burning through the rubble plans for doing triple checkups on the king plans for ostracizing any changelings that were in the city and re-vetting basically people who are in the bubble because it seems like a great time for him personally to

Jake

Now that basically the majority of your changes are killed, it gives them the better sense of finding out which ones are inside of the king's trusted men. Technically, he's taking his personal notes. He's like, it's going to be a good day for me.

Pat

Okay.

Connor

Cadillac himself wasn't a changeling, correct?

Jake

Doesn't look like a changeling at all, man.

Pat

I don't think so.

Pat

I keep watching them for the seven minutes. I relay all this information to the party. And I just kind of keep my eye out for the duration of the spell of anything that seems important. And then I also kind of take a gander at that one lady and kind of see what she looks like.

Jake

You see, yeah, she immediately gets up and like puts her arms around him. She's like, come back to bed, baby. He's like, I just can't do it. Sidney was just attacked. I can't go back to bed. I should be out there with them. She's like, he told you took the days off so you could be with us and the kids. He's like, well, our family's in fucking danger. Get off me, woman. You know, he does that shit. Last but not hard.

Jess

You're happy, bitch. Amazing.

Jake table talk

Pat's just snooping. Little pervy Pat over there. Scrying all people's lives. Fucking, what's up, Alexa?

Jess table talk

there

Pat table talk

Super.

Jake table talk

You don't got to be put in this house. Pat comes to you.

Pat

He clicked this up. He knew it was coming. All right. That's it, man. And I let it close when it closes. But I do watch the full seven minutes in case something interesting happens. And if they start fucking, I continue to scry.

Jake

You just see that lady open up her legs. You go, get your midnight snack on.

Jake

And then the feed ends. No, it's his blurry channel now.

Pat

I'm looking in the bowl of water and I'm like, nice. Y'all want to check what you have?

Jake

Cadillac's over there dicking down, dude.

Pat

I turn off the TV.

Jake

That's actually so cool. You rub the water to break up the signal.

Pat

Yeah.

Pat table talk

Was it so P?

Jake table talk

That song feels so cool, dude.

Jake

Yeah, that's enough of that. Scrub it out with your foot.

Jake

Anybody doing anything else on this magical night? We just do it. We just hit in a solid eight.

Jake

Richard is awake for this whole time. What does one do? What does one robot do with purpose as it sits alone on these lonely nights while the humans are sleeping?

Rich

I'm gonna take that mirror back and smash it. Now...

Rich

Usually that craps.

Pat

Yo, I'd love a sleeve of

Rich

Hang out with the night creatures. There's a lot in this universe.

Pat

I would love a sleeves of many garments if you could craft me one, Rich.

Rich

Absolutely.

Pat

give you give you 100 gold that's the cost right Do you charge for your services?

Rich

I do not. Well, not for party members, at least.

Pat table talk

Oh, I will party with you, Dougie.

Nutty

I think when

Rich table talk

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Nutty

I'll take one also if you've got the time.

Pat

You can make hell of those in a night, can't you?

Rich

I want to say five? No, four.

Pat

Fuck, man. Let's fucking... I give you fucking all the... How much does it cost to have a full set for the crew? We need that shit.

Ozan

leaves for everybody.

Jake table talk

I like how Rick it is.

Pat

Everyone needs to be able to change clothes instantly.

Jake

I like how race is like, I don't charge you to make it, but it costs money.

Connor

fucking disguises

Pat

Well, it's $100 a piece.

Rich

Let me check.

Pat

and you can make them all night.

Connor

Well, yeah, see what happened last time. This guy might be needed.

Ozan

What is the...

Rich

guess I can make up to eight.

Pat

And you already have one, right?

Rich

Yes, so I only need to make seven.

Pat

Sweet. I give you 700 gold. I give you 600 gold because Connor's putting up for his own.

Connor

Yeah, I'll definitely take one.

Connor

I'll give you 100.

Rich

I do have to roll the crafting so there's a chance I can botch on these.

Pat

Everyone give this man a hundred gold.

Nutty

I came 100.

Ozan

Wait, I thought you were buying it for us.

Pat

Fine, I'll buy it for you. I buy Ozon's.

Ozan

Appreciate it. God loves you.

Pat

How about Jesses?

Pat

Who else needs one? Do you want one?

Nutty

I put up 100.

Pat

All right, you put up 100. And Connor, you put up 100, do you want me to buy one?

Connor

I'm putting up on it.

Pat

All right.

Pat

What about Donnie? Let's make him one too.

Pat

And Ashleen, put up 100 for her.

Pat

I scratched off 500 gold.

Rich

One of these is really well made.

Rich table talk

You're at one department. Yeah, Pat Kitt's the really sweet one.

Pat

Tight.

Pat

Is it like... In its natural state, does it have like a special shine to it?

Rich

Damn right. Shimmers in the moonlight.

Pat

All right.

Ozan

What's the name of the item?

Pat

sleeves of many garments.

Pat

The wear of the sleeves can, when she slips them on, choose to transform the appearance of her garments into any other non-magical set of clothing. The new clothes fit you perfectly and are always clean and mended unless specifically designated otherwise.

Connor

Damn, those are sick.

Ozan

That's dope. We can have a team uniform, guys.

Pat table talk

It's so sick. We could all... Exactly...

Rich

Yeah, this is why I threw points into crafting. It's a worthwhile feat.

Pat table talk

100 fucking percent.

Jess table talk

It's a worthwhile

Jess table talk

Oh my god, that uniform idea. Matching tracksuits or some shit.

Nutty table talk

Well, the uniform will have to change like every city that we visit.

Ozan

I mean, now that we're famous, might as well, right?

Pat table talk

Dude, lean into it.

Pat table talk

Man.

Connor table talk

No such thing as pen.

Pat

And then when we get the turbine charged up and we destroy the next town, we can make a gigantic mark in the sky that shows what we are. And then we'll cruise with that as our logo. Infamous.

Ozan

Yeah, we have to have a calling sign or whatever that call.

Pat

Like a sigil.

Connor table talk

Did we just turn into like the Death Eaters from Harry Potter?

Rich table talk

I'm not sure how I feel about the harvesting of souls.

Pat table talk

That was exactly what I was thinking of when you said that. I don't know if it was this backdrop of Voldemort, but I'm definitely thinking about that.

Rich table talk

I don't know if I'm down for that one.

Pat table talk

Well, you already made the sleeves of many garments, so it's happening.

Jess table talk

Wish we had a bard to make us a theme song to go with it.

Ozan table talk

Unfortunately, I'm a preaching bird.

Jake table talk

Yeah, dude.

Jake table talk

Rock and roll, dude, you can't make good songs, though. That's what sucks.

Jake table talk

You make jams, but they don't hit.

Jake

So you guys are just sleeping on the boat.

Pat

All right. Sleeping on the boat. I redid my spells, changed them up for the day.

Ozan

Then we'll go to the carpet race.

Connor

Yeah, we can be like multi-layer famous here. We're in this fucking magic carpet race. We're already pretty well known. Then they find out they were destroying cities too.

Jake table talk

And Rich Merck?

Ozan

We haven't won the carpool race yet.

Connor

Oh no, what if we do?

Ozan

Oh, yeah.

Ozan

That's why we need a uniform to go into the carpet race

Jess

momentarily.

Jake table talk

Yeah, they're really going to have to separate the arts from the artist on this one.

Ozan table talk

Well, what's, yeah, what's our name going to be for the carpet race?

Jake table talk

Yeah, you guys, I mean, technically you got to have a name to set, you know, for signups.

Pat table talk

Oh, man.

Jess

spell did you cast that burned the whole city down pat?

Connor

Oh, dude, Copperbeard's mistake.

Pat

It's called Sirocco. Sirocco, that's what it's called.

Ozan

I think like fire bomb. It's basically like kind of like fireball.

Jake table talk

Or Cicero?

Jess table talk

It doesn't really like a metal band or our team name.

Jake table talk

it's a, it's a, it's a,

Ozan table talk

That's a good name. Yeah.

Ozan table talk

If we can figure out how to say it.

Jake table talk

Cicero is like a

Connor table talk

Sirocco. Isn't that Sirocco?

Jake table talk

Sirocco?

Jess table talk

Sirocco's legacy. Sirocco's ghost. Sirocco's

Jake table talk

Yeah, it's like Led Zeppelin.

Ozan table talk

to Roco.

Jake

It forces you to fall.

Pat table talk

The Sultans of Cinder.

Jess table talk

Not planned.

Jake table talk

I'm not a name guy.

Jess table talk

the scorching rays.

Jake table talk

Scorching Rays is pretty dope. I'd fucking... I'd go to a baseball team like that. We're going to see the Scorching Rays.

Pat table talk

Scorching Rays is for me.

Jake table talk

That's pretty sick.

Pat table talk

the

Jake table talk

Even the underlining of the Scorching Rays can be the spell itself. See, it hits all bands. Two syllables.

Jess table talk

It also kind of

Pat table talk

The afterburners.

Jess table talk

I don't know why it sounds like an acapella group to me a little bit. I like their barbershop quartet.

Jake table talk

A doo-wop group?

Jess table talk

The Scorching Rays.

Pat table talk

impending heat wave.

Jake table talk

The Bouncing Souls.

Rich table talk

Dancing souls? Those New Jersey boochers?

Pat table talk

the tunnel snakes

Ozan table talk

We're getting ahead of ourselves though. First, we got to get there.

Jake table talk

Top of the stage rule.

Rich table talk

There we go.

Pat table talk

That's the next rule.

Jake table talk

I'm pretty sure that was an O'Doyle joke in a fucking Fallout game. Oh my god.

Jake

Yeah, you have no visitors at night. It goes off without a hitch. You guys are well rested.

Jess table talk

Hill River vibes.

Jake

on a river that's kicking. I mean, you know, it's pretty fast. I don't know how many knots that is, because it's a dumbass length of speed. So I'm not even going to try to bother you or bore you with that kind of crap. So I'm just going to say it's going about 20 hands. Because that's about the same speed. I measure in cartwheels, so.

Connor

Does this bow have a sail?

Jess table talk

That's what we likes about you, Jake.

Jake table talk

I don't know if it has a sale.

Jess table talk

Got a sail? Yeah, it has a... Hold on, hold on. I'm thinking about the rowboat, I think. Let me double check on the ship.

Pat table talk

I think it sounded good.

Jess table talk

pretty sure it has a sale, but let's double check. Folding boats.

Jake table talk

Is that boat green? Green energy boat.

Jess

did I write what kind of magic the folding boat is? I did not.

Pat

Casting Bueth Flight on Jess's ship for seven hours.

Jess

Five sets of oars, a rudder, an anchor, a deck cabin, and a mast with a square sail.

Pat

It gains a fly speed of 40 feet with average maneuverability.

Connor

Oh yeah, let's sail this fucking city. Let's just fly the boat there.

Jake

It can ascend at half speed and descend at double speed.

Jess table talk

So it's a flying boat. That's dope.

Jake table talk

Yeah.

Jake

Roll me a fly check.

Pat

I will.

Pat

Fly.

Jake

As Pat casts Fly on it, It's in the water. He's like, okay, I got this, guys. It casts flies. And then he just goes, and then the boat just starts shaking. He's like, it's my first time casting out a boat. I got it. I got it. I got it.

Pat

I come out a little hot.

Pat

Did I forget to pull the anchor?

Jake

It's just part of the process here. Part of the process.

Jess table talk

Damn it, African-American.

Jake

I mean, that's really last. I have a little bit of trouble getting this thing to ascend just off of the water. You're not trying to go high.

Jake table talk

Uh,

Pat

Can try again. I don't know.

Jake

So to a maximum of 10,000 pounds. Holy shit.

Rich

I've got a decent fly spiel if you want me to take over.

Jake table talk

Pat Spell.

Pat

Yeah, take it over. Can I hand someone over the concentration of a spell?

Jake

No way.

Pat table talk

All right.

Jake table talk

It's not a hot potato.

Ozan

Watch over this.

Jake table talk

You cast Abracadabra on this motherfucker.

Pat table talk

I'm dead. I'm dead.

Jake

I guess you could if you could share spell with a familiar. So if you're familiar Headfly,

Pat

Actually, he does because any cast spells is a fucking sorcerer.

Jake

And he casted it.

Jake

I would, I'd say that. That's it.

Pat

We can't cast this though.

Jake

If you share spells if you're familiar, yeah, I think that would fly. So retract what I said earlier.

Pat

I can have my familiar control it. Because he's got a flying luck dragon of fucking plus 23.

Pat

I pass the reins over to Randy with Cher Spell. I do. I have improved familiar feed.

Jake

Do you have shared spells?

Jake

There we go.

Pat

Alright, he flies this bitch. I don't even have to concentrate. I'll take a nap. Fucking Rated Electragon's got it.

Jake

He's like, don't worry, guys, I got you. That's his voice.

Pat

Yeah, he's also got this dope-ass breath weapon.

Jake

Who are you?

Pat

that I'm gonna use real quick. It doesn't really do any damage.

Jake table talk

Tell me about your luck dragon.

Pat

It's pretty tight. I use this euphoria morning breath weapon. It's a euphoric cloud.

Jake table talk

That's pretty apropos.

Pat

Pretty tight. Creatures affected by euphoria are staggered and seconded and immune to fear effects. So I just suck on that a little bit.

Jake table talk

What does he look like? What is he? A little Lux Dragon. Are those one of the...

Pat table talk

He looks like Falcor, dude. He looks like a tiny Falcor. He's not huge. He's like a medium-sized Falcor.

Jake table talk

one of the dragons where you're like why do you fly you have no wings he's like it's magic

Pat table talk

Now, he's got wings. He's also got these little tiny arms that are really good for holding magic ones.

Jake table talk

Yeah, that's what the T-Rex is known for. Actually, that's why his arms are so tiny. He's like, I just need to hold magic wands.

Pat table talk

Exactly.

Rich table talk

Yep. They withered away without any more use.

Jake table talk

Yeah, because they didn't need to use their arms because they had magic.

Jake table talk

God, duh.

Pat table talk

It's a lesson. It's a lesson.

Jake table talk

Ha.

Jake table talk

Oh, perfect.

Jake table talk

Fucking Randy. All right.

Jake table talk

Named him the, no, that's Ricky. Ricky's a white trash name. Randy's dope. Randy's a cool, he's a cool guy.

Jess table talk

Orny, the luck dragon if you're British.

Jake table talk

Well, he is a little Randy, isn't he?

Jake table talk

I got a red penis!

Pat table talk

Yeah.

Jake table talk

You know?

Jake table talk

It's very bright for no reason. I use it to ward off other males.

Jake table talk

God, sorry.

Pat table talk

Don't make fun of dog culture, Drake.

Jake table talk

No, it's just some monkeys have that too. And it's just, it's the weirdest fucking thing. It's like proboscis. It's crazy.

Jake table talk

Stop thinking about Dragon Dick. Let's go. All right.

Pat

All right, so we fly for seven hours at 40 speed. slightly faster than we'd be marching. But as the crow flies towards the town and not with the roads bends, how far are we from the town in a direct shot?

Connor

We're sailing.

Jake

In a direct shot, you guys are about like 12 hours away.

Pat

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Fuck you, little mountain town.

Jess

Hell yeah.

Pat

Well, this fell in the last seven hours, so we'll have to figure something out.

Jess

As the crow flies, are we going over like any, like over the mountain or anything like that? Like, anything...

Jake

The mountains are to your right. As you guys are flying, you can see just giant fucking huge mountains. The range is, you know, this is, you kind of, you're not going up and through the clouds. You can see the clouds and they just go up into them. I mean, these things are just giant. They don't call them the Troll Mountains for nothing.

Pat

How big does the refugee line look? Have they been traveling all night?

Jake

Yeah, they've been traveling all night.

Jake

You see, I'd say they broke half stayed and camped, and the other half just kept pushing. It's kind of like a... The early refugee gets the spot, I guess is the saying.

Pat

Are we gonna, yeah, no shit. Are we gonna arrive before any of the refugees do?

Jake

I'm going to say fuck yeah, because you guys have a flying ship.

Pat

Good, because I don't want to deal with any of that. You can't come in shit. Oh, man. Oh, fucking tent city. What happened?

Jake

Yeah. They're going to talk about building a wall and then they're just not going to do it. And then refugees are going to climb over the wall because it's a fucking wall. And then, you know, fucking idiots.

Pat

I ain't paying for that shit.

Connor

Let's sail this bitch for seven hours. Land it when shit's about to get ahead.

Jess table talk

Just said, only short people pay the price.

Pat

No. I'm brought. I brought all my castings for in view of flight, so I can do it twice today.

Connor

Oh, then let's not even worry about it.

Pat

I'll just re-up it. Yeah, just re-up it on the seventh hour.

Connor

Yeah, let's just get our ass up there.

Pat

But I do it like right at the last second, Jake. So when we start plummeting, I cast it again.

Jake

You're pre-casting an hour ahead of time?

Pat

Yeah.

Jake table talk

Smart. Clever girl.

Pat

Well, no, I actually said something else. I wanted to see if I could, I wanted to let the ship start falling first.

Jake

Putter out. Do a slowdown like you're being pulled in a parachute. That shit's fun. Whoa.

Pat table talk

I left, oh, y'all lucky I'm here, you know what I'm saying?

Jake

Guess who carries QuickCast?

Jake table talk

That's great.

Pat

So we'll have two additional hours of flight when we get there in 12 hours, unless we want to stop somewhere for a picnic for an hour.

Pat

Or whatever.

Jake table talk

Hey.

Pat

What does the new city look like as we approach it?

Jake

And are you guys...

Jake

As you approach

Jake

This is the city that's unseen. You guys really haven't seen it before.

Jake

laduriel the you it's just massive these buildings are

Jake table talk

I'm bringing up my notes here.

Jake

So from a distance, You see,

Jake

The city's very well made. You can basically see it from up top. It's kind of got this Manhattan look to it, where it's in a giant rectangle, and then a smaller rectangle right next to it that's on the mountain face. And that's where the tallest spires are. and the capital like you can clearly tell that this city is massive

Jake

And there's spires in their churches and everything that goes up tower-like is very sharp and clean. And then all the other buildings look very square rectangular, very well put together. As you appear closer to the city, you kind of get the vibe that Since this is just such a giant hub, a multicultural pot, all of the buildings kind of look reminiscent from your home. It was made with elvish, dwarven, human, gnome, or craftsmanship. Everybody pitched in, put together to make these houses look great, and they used all of their benefits. of skilled craft and we'd like to do it. So you kind of have that vibe. Like it's kind of like the welcoming city and there are so many people that live in it. Their food must be fucking great.

Pat table talk

Thanks.

Jess

Land this boat. Get some food.

Jake table talk

Jess, you said the magic words. Are you tracking the boat?

Pat

Is there anywhere

Jake table talk

I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. No, he said your magic award was boat. And so I thought you were...

Jess table talk

Sorry, say again.

Jess

Well, it's a different word to collapse it. Boat turns it into a boat, ship turns it into a ship, and then there's the closing, turn it back into a box word, which is box.

Pat

which you didn't say.

Jake

Which is box.

Jess

I did not say it out loud as a character.

Jake table talk

Okay. Okay. No, yeah, we're out. We're out. I just want to catch you later by saying boat on something and have the boat appear. That's just me. That's just me personally.

Jess table talk

It might happen.

Jake table talk

Boat's pretty powerful to work.

Pat

Should we, where do you guys want to land this? Do we want to like pick a spire and enter through the top? Or you want to like go to town square or park outside the town or come up kind of sneakily or what's the vibe?

Connor

I'll figure that, you know, all the rich, powerful people are going to be in the tallest spires. So I say we're going to that way. Got to rub elbows with the rich folk.

Jess

I say we enter like normal people so we don't like immediately gain attention. But that's just my...

Pat

Are we raising the boat in the magic carpet race?

Connor table talk

Dude, I think that'd be a great idea.

Jess

I don't think it'll be fast enough, will it?

Pat

I don't know. I think they all go 40, but some of them probably go way faster.

Connor

I know, but also we have a sale on ours and we can create ways to get some wind behind us.

Pat table talk

That's not a bad idea.

Connor

But also I'm down to land at the front of

Pat

Until we steal someone else's carpet.

Pat

you guys want to land.

Connor

Yo, let's just go on the regular way.

Pat

It's pull up outside of town.

Jake

Pat, roll me a knowledge arcana and craft check.

Jake

I'm going to say craft rug.

Pat table talk

I'm Kraftwerk.

Pat

I can roll a knowledge arcana.

Pat

I can roll a craft, just a generic craft check if you like.

Jake

Yeah, that's what I meant.

Jess

I have clothing.

Pat

put craft rug on here. and lower it.

Jake

I'm going to say automatically you know – that Magic rugs. are just inherently just faster than your imbued with fight spell.

Pat

Yeah, I kind of. Yeah, I believe that.

Jake table talk

I mean, you know, it's like,

Jake

People who craft their rugs and really take care of it, it's its own community. Those guys are trying to shave off points of seconds during the racetrack.

Jake table talk

You know, it's like being, it's like showing up to a drag race in a lawnmower.

Pat table talk

Sometimes you only have a lot more, though.

Jake table talk

Yeah, but those dragging lawnmowers are sick!

Pat

The shotgun I brought on my lawnmower is going to help me get into that Lambo.

Jake

He's damn right.

Jake

Sloan said he wins the race because the tortoise had a shotgun. I'll never tell you that last part.

Pat

I hop off the boat.

Jake

And you fall to your death. I don't know why you did that. That was silly.

Pat

and landed outside the city.

Jake table talk

Okay. I'm sorry, I didn't hear that.

Jake

So you landed outside the city.

Jake

It's the outside. So the city. So, like I said, the city is it's on the mountain face. So.

Jess table talk

Say box.

Jake

the city under it, it's in a giant oval. So yeah, so just half of an oval. And that back is against to the giant wall that goes up. And the wall has a little bit of a waterfall on it. And it just, you know, a couple like niche stairs going up. Very hard, very difficult, very straight up. Just adorned with all these crazy things. And then on top of it is the next level. It's like basically like... Every single day, unfortunately, people living in the city can see classism because it's right there.

Jake

And so you'd be outside of the city.

Jake

Yeah, it's in the back side, so closest to the...

Jake

Okay, so you guys just going to stroll in?

Jake

Pock it up the boat.

Jess table talk

I mean, the boat's like in its box form again. Is that box?

Pat table talk

Boxing up a boat.

Jake

How does it fold up or how does it go back into its casing and do its housing?

Jess

Kind of almost like in a, like the wall in Diagon Alley, like where the cobbles start uncobbling, but with the ship planks. And then it becomes a box.

Jake table talk

It's just fucking like defractals.

Jess

Yeah. And then it's a box and I put up my little handy haversack and yeah, there was never a boat here. What boat?

Pat table talk

It's so tight.

Jess table talk

And I don't say that because, you know, the B word.

Jake table talk

Yeah, right. See? See how hard that is? We can say Yahtzee once. We can say Yahtzee once.

Pat table talk

Oh,

Jake

All right. So the first the first wall of the city. is The main gate's out in front. I'm going to say you guys are stuck next to the water. The river runs through the city. On the front side of it. So you guys, since you followed the river, you can see that it's ironed. The wall can encompass it. So there's nothing but bars literally in the middle of the river. So the city has fresh water. I mean... It's awesome. And you guys are just walking around to the front side where the main doors are. And there's a couple guards standing out front and a couple guards on top of the walls. The walls are about, I want to say, 40 foot high. Or 40 feet. And there's just dudes on their posts.

Jake

and the immigrants are refugees, excuse me, are... They're going to be about 10 hours or so behind you. Other than that, there's a couple carts at Freddy's going in and out.

Jake

There's just chatter all going around. It's pretty popular. Maybe like 13, 20 people waiting to get in. There's a little bit of a line.

Pat

What are the guards wearing?

Jake

They're pretty heavily armored. More Centurion. Only one guy has like a hussar. The head helmet.

Pat

Is, are they wearing like, one of those things called that it's like a piece of cloth. It's like a small banner over your armor that has like a logo of your town.

Jake

Totally. These are very, yeah, these guards rep their set. They are, they're very proud of this town that,

Pat

Was there a symbol of our last town that they also saw those guys that flew over us? Or were they repping the same, like one of their town?

Jake

Yes, they did. Yeah. The old town had basically, it was a circle and then two anchors. So just picture like an old sailor's tattoo anchor. It was that and then it was mirrored on top of it. So it was two anchors touching.

Pat

do

Jake

And that's what you saw in Cadillac.

Pat

Do we want to pretend that... Do we want to represent ourselves as people from the last town to skip this fucking line and then get into something or something or other?

Pat

I'm asking the group here. This is more of a forgery. Get in the, I don't know.

Jess

I mean...

Jess

Is it pretty desolate out here, Jake? Like, if we came from elsewhere, would it be weird?

Jake

No, not at all. Like I said, like from what you could tell with the buildings, it seems like a very multicultural, multifaceted city.

Jess

That's right. I was just wondering if we said we weren't from the other town, they'd be like, you know, what did you come from the woods? You know, like,

Jake

It's so, I'm going to say it's like so liberal that like they look down on you for not being liberal. They look down on other cities because like, why haven't you guys gotten together and done all our cool shit because we had multi-people? Like, what are you doing?

Pat table talk

oh, it's like home.

Jake table talk

About the same.

Jake table talk

You look down anywhere you go.

Jake table talk

It's like the Netherlands.

Pat

Well, what do fam? What do you want to do?

Jake

They're like, what do you mean your school's not fucking free? Like, what do you mean you don't have healthcare? You guys are pieces of shit.

Connor

That's what we ask these fuckers.

Connor

ask these guys where this carpet ride sign up is.

Pat table talk

Good call. Good call.

Jess

Before we go in, if we say we're from the previous town, we should say that we're fleeing because if we don't mention it, that will be suspicious.

Connor

I mean, but we did show up before the refugees. So we could just be like, we have no idea what happened.

Pat

Yeah, man. We ain't a part of that.

Pat

I alter self before I go in.

Jake

What you looking like?

Pat

I'm going to look like... Conan O'Brien.

Jake

Nice.

Pat

Yeah.

Jake

Tall, orange, gray hair.

Pat

All ginger orange dude.

Jake table talk

No, like ridiculously tall. You're like 6'8". I think he's 6'9". He makes Reggie Watts look tiny, dude. He's fucking huge.

Pat table talk

Like stupid doll.

Pat table talk

He's stupid.

Pat

Yeah, good. Fuck those guys.

Pat

There's a fucking, there's a new sheriff in town.

Jake table talk

Pat has a whole bunch of weird confidence.

Jake

So, Connie, you're going and asking basically the guards out front. There's a little line above you. You're kind of like mingling in with the group. Like I said, a couple of pods, you guys pulled up last. No one's really coming behind you.

Connor

Yeah, I heard there's a magic carpet race here, and we need to get our asses signed up.

Jake

All right. You guys pull up. Everyone kind of shuffles in. You guys pull up and you say that to the one of the guards. He's like, yeah, sure. Excellent. I just need you guys have any documentation of where you're coming from. Are you guys just here to go and see the car race or sign up for the car race? He's like, I'm going to have you. He's like, he's like, do you have any? Do you have any?

Pat

Yes, I know.

Rich table talk

That's more to this world.

Jake

dangerous magical items or crazy batteries that you're bringing into the city

Connor

Not at all.

Jess table talk

fascist.

Jake

Not at all? Okay. He's like, each one of you guys, I need your signature. He hands you this glowing pen. He's like, if you guys just sign right here on this docket, everybody, please.

Pat

Knowledge Arcana on that thing. Innocence Vibs, please.

Jake

Roman Sans Vots.

Jess

Since Vibes. Since Vibes.

Ozan

Is this guy by himself?

Jake

No. He's got his, he's got his whole crew with him. Like,

Pat table talk

That's for one.

Ozan

He's got a soul crew.

Jake

Yeah, well, these are this like, yeah, they're stationed there. So like, this is the, you know, front lines for any sort of city. In or out, this is one of the four holes. There's another one on the other side. These guards are here stacked. And they're, you know, they're getting people in and out of the main gate. This is their job. They've always stationed. They, you know, there's

Pat table talk

No.

Jake

It's their own different sect. They're not like the guards on duty who are on the top of the walls because those guys are patrolmen. These guys are their own sect.

Jake

They handle with taking care of anything or anybody coming in food and safety magic. These are way more adept guards and just the standard night guards. These guys have to take, you know, let's just say, fucking people were coming in and they had a bad time or they also have to throw people out, make sure they never come back. The CEDS vibes, Pat, you Literally, no, this guy hates you.

Pat

Oh, he fucking hates me. Do I feel unsafe?

Pat

I say I forgot something in the cart. I'll be right back.

Pat

And I turn around and leave.

Jake

Okay. The guard's like, he's like, where's your cart, buddy?

Jess

I shall pass.

Pat

And I run.

Ozan

Hold on. This guy...

Jake

The guy goes, Benji, watch that fucker. He's like, go after him.

Jess table talk

Good to have it.

Ozan

Can I just get his attention for a second?

Jake

Pat, you have a guard chasing after you.

Ozan

Wait, no, Jake, before that happens, can I get the guard's attention with the distraction?

Pat

O'Reilly Initiative.

Jake

I'm going to say you have role initiative.

Jess

What if we ruled diplomacy instead? What if we were just friends?

Rich table talk

What are the... the promise Well, we were just friends.

Pat table talk

Yes.

Rich

What if we just explained how fucking horrifying the trauma of that city getting burned down was?

Pat table talk

That'd be a good shirt.

Jake table talk

That is a great shirt.

Pat table talk

What if we just rolled this bomb of tea instead?

Jake table talk

So good. That's so fucking good.

Pat table talk

I love that.

Jess table talk

I would wear that shirt.

Pat table talk

I know, me too.

Jake table talk

All right. Well,

Jake

Damn, okay, so I should have just rolled it with it. I guess technically it was something like, Ozan, you do have a turn before this motherfucker. He is, you know, you know that, you know, there's a stutter step you do before kicking into high running gear. This guy is, this guy did that when he was told to go run after Pat.

Ozan

Yeah, I think I can.

Jake

And... What is your distraction?

Ozan

Tell him that he looks a little lost. And I asked him about what how he ended up here.

Jake

He's like, not as lost as this kind of before I knock him the fuck out. And then he

Rich table talk

care about our living Savior.

Jake table talk

You can say whatever you want, Ozon.

Jake table talk

If you want to... You got... Increasing faster.

Pat

let me hear you applaud blah i'm a ball and i'm talking to this dude to fascinate his ass

Ozan

Fascinate him. with drawing him into an argument that he didn't really want to get into.

Jake

Okay, the guard's fascinating. He's talking to you. What do you say?

Ozan

I just make sure that he pays attention to me instead of Pat running away until Pat's gone, in which case I just kind of mumble and

Jake

He's like, yeah, what's up, man? The lead guard's like, Jesus Christ. He's like, Riggs, go get that fucking guy. And Riggs starts running.

Jake table talk

Pat, yeah.

Pat

I cast invisibility.

Ozan

I target him with fascinate as well.

Jake

So is that just anybody who can hear you?

Ozan

I'm a bard. I'm just talking about, I'm just preaching.

Pat table talk

It was really fascinating.

Ozan

Some important things to say.

Pat

and I tested his ability. Well, he's so fascinating.

Jake

Alright, well, Pat, as you're, like, taking the line, you're just shoving people out of your way, once you get to the back, I'm gonna say, yeah, that's when you fucking go invisible. And drop.

Jake

And Ozon's talking to guards and they're just like, yeah, man, dude, start a small business. I fucking get it, dude. Yeah, I'm going to go get a little farm. I'll grab a whole bunch of animals in the area that have died from, or that have like lost their owners through natural disasters. I'm going to create my own little pond. It'd be sweet.

Jake

Connor the guard and that lead guard is like, he's like, we're going to have a talk about this after you guys are fucking done. He's like, you guys are going to go to be reprimanded. That's you're just obeying a direct order. He's like, I can't have that in my squad. He's like, everybody back on the wall. And he hands you the pen.

Connor

I'm trying to convince this guy that we are peaceful. I'm trying to talk him out of interrogating us.

Jake

He's not interrogating you.

Connor

one of this gets the wall.

Jake

No. He was, he was talking to his guards.

Connor

Oh, nice.

Jake

Because he told them to go run, and then they just started talking to some dude.

Jake

That has inside it. He's like, hey guys, you can talk all the fuck you want once these fuckers get inside on your break time. I don't give a shit. He's like, but right now he's like, you fucking get on that goddamn wall. He's like, oh, God damn. It's hard to find good help these days, right? And he goes, anyway, here. It's like, sign-ins right here.

Connor

Yeah, I definitely signed him.

Jake

He's like, there's always a runner. You know what I'm saying?

Jess

Always one.

Jake

And what do you write down?

Connor

That's my name.

Connor

Some book enforcer.

Pat

I don't know.

Jake

Jim Jones? Jim Jones?

Pat

Is there a wall?

Jake

Yes.

Pat

I changed my clothes to plain brown clothing using investments. And then I cast fly and I fly over the wall.

Jake

Pat Roller, knowledge arcana check.

Pat

knowledge arcana

Pat

26.

Jake

The spell Alarm has been casted. Right when you go over the main gate.

Pat

Okay?

Jess

Yeah.

Pat

That sucks.

Pat

Anything else happening?

Jess

Is he still invisible? Can't see him.

Jake

Connor is walking into the city. Who's next in line?

Pat

Once the spell sounds a audible alarm each time a creature enters the warded area.

Jess

I'll go.

Jake

Jess,

Jake

Jesse, you see the guard look up and he goes, huh, all right. He goes, okay.

Jake

And then he goes, Riggs. And he just nods towards the door and Riggs takes off inside the city. And then he goes, he looks at Jess and he goes, he's like, he's like, sorry about that. I didn't mean to keep you waiting.

Jess

What?

Jake

and he goes he's like do you have any magical batteries on you any magical items weapons of destruction

Jess

I need to sense vibes on this guy.

Jess

Just in case this is at all part of his reaction. I'm a changeling, not a doppelganger. Different thing.

Jess

The vibes have been checked.

Pat

A lot of charge race stuff going on here. Just like I ain't one of them.

Jake

It's just in this world, changelings have their own written language.

Jake

But they can only write in things that move a lot, like a waterfall or in the leaves of trees, things that are constantly moving and changing. So,

Jake table talk

That was something I made up trunk a couple weekends ago. I wrote it down. Thought you should know. Anyway.

Jess table talk

Fuck yeah.

Jake

the guy, the guy at the gate, he seems that he's, his vibes are good. His vibes are just chill. He's a little, you know, what you, what you saw right there was like, Just a known alarm that he got triggered. It's just letting know that there was a breach over the city wall. And it's just another day for him. He's just at his post. He's TSA. He's just making sure, you know, he's just doing his fucking job. That alarm went off. He really wasn't scared because someone else is going to fucking handle it. And, you know, he's, yeah.

Jess

I thought he looked at me and was like, oh shit.

Jess

Okay. An answer to his questions, then. No. Nothing to claim. Just a normal, everyday person.

Jake

He's like, yeah, what are you here for? You just traveling? What you doing?

Jess

Just passing through, seeing what there is to see.

Jess

I just stare at him.

Jake

yeah he's like is there any signed signals or letters of recommendation or like just coming in just trap just traveling for you know it's just a pleasure

Pat

No, man, their town isn't that fucking cool. Why the fuck...

Jess

Yeah, just visit. Don't plan on staying or anything.

Jake

Okay.

Jess

Unless I won.

Jake

He's like, here, take the pen. Sign right here.

Jess

Okay, I write these nuts.

Pat

Yeah, fuck yeah. Fuck this fucking clown.

Jess

fascist

Jake

You said that to him?

Pat

Track this.

Jake

You want to call him a fucking fascist for doing his job?

Jess

No. I'm saying that to Pat, it was not near me.

Pat

He was just following orders, Jess.

Jake

with your vibe sense, you know that he'd just be like, yeah, I'm a fucking fascist. I love being me. You know, like, whatever. Like, I got worse this morning. Like, whatever. Right.

Jess

Another day in God's fascist country.

Pat

Another day, another regime.

Pat table talk

laughter

Jake

All right, let's get through.

Jess

D's moves on through the doors.

Jake

Hey, he's like, ride this way, D's. Mrs. Nuts, excuse me, or Ms. Nuts.

Pat

God, I want to identify that pen.

Pat

If that's possible, whenever these guys are through.

Jake

Next.

Jake

It was Dax.

Ozan

Who else is left? Just me and Rich?

Rich

Yeah, I think so.

Rich

All right.

Ozan

I go in. I...

Jake

And Nnedi, I think, is Nnedi here?

Ozan

Yeah, where's Nani?

Pat

It was earlier.

Nutty

I'm here.

Rich table talk

That nutty's here.

Ozan

All right, I go in, I sign Ben Dover.

Jake

You bend over. He looks, pats your ass a couple times, gives you a shakedown. He does that girl humping thing where he just hits you, but he doesn't go into it. He's like, I'm just kidding, man. He's like, any batteries, anything, any magical weapons to declare? Any notes or sigils?

Ozan

Nope, just the power of God.

Jake

He's like, cool.

Pat

D'Andros is gone.

Jake

He's like, oh shit. He gets out on his knees and starts sucking your dick. No, he's like, no, that's all. He's like, that's all right. He's like, excellent. He's like, more holy men than better. That's what I always say. Not a big believer, but we all came from something, right? I mean, who are we kidding? Here's a pen. Sign your name.

Jake

What do you sign?

Ozan

And over.

Jake

Bend over. Oh, I thought you like bent over in front of him.

Ozan

That's what I said.

Jake

Yeah, he likes it, yeah.

Rich

first though.

Jake table talk

Who's on second?

Jake table talk

You're on first.

Jake

Next.

Pat

You signed, Natty?

Rich

Go for it.

Nutty

How big are these walls?

Jake

He looks...

Jake

About 40 feet high.

Nutty

Is it like all around the city? Is there a way to fly in or they got like how big like

Nutty

Are they like regulating...

Jake

The wall is 40 feet tall. It's in a circle around the whole and a half circle around the whole entire city, like a moon shape.

Nutty

Are they regulating people flying in or do they not care? Do they care?

Jake

Oh, they don't give a shit, dude. They're just, you know, you know, roll sense fives.

Pat

No.

Rich

Yes.

Jake

All right.

Jake

So you start flapping your wings and you just start flying up and going in?

Nutty

Yeah, but not at the main gate.

Nutty

I'm not like in line to walk into the city, I just fly in the city.

Jake

I don't understand what you're asking me. So are you, do you, do you fly from the outside to the inside of the city or do you, like, you're in line right with them?

Nutty

No, I'm not in line. I don't get in line to fly across the city. Like, once we park, I just fly into the city. I didn't wait to park. I just fly to the city.

Jake

Okay, yeah, then... As you guys are standing in line, you can see... It's a very clear day. You can see...

Jake

How high are you flying, Nelly?

Nutty

I'm a Walder 40.

Jake

How far are you from the ground?

Nutty

Probably

Jake

Or the top of the wall, I should say.

Nutty

70 feet in the air.

Jake

As you're approaching the city wall, there's a guard on top of it. He's a little far away from me, about like 200, 400 feet away. He goes, hey, buddy, sign-ins are down there.

Nutty

All right, and then I apply down there and I sign it.

Jake

He's like, thank you.

Jake

While that's happening, the main guard looks at you, Rich, and he's kind of puzzled. He's like, are you here alone?

Rich

That was weird, wasn't it?

Jake

Right.

Rich

Well, have a good day. And I walk past.

Jake

he's like, he puts his hand on your carapace? He doesn't know what to call it. He's like, he's never seen, he's never seen a, he's like, he's like, where's your, he's like, where's your, where's your, he looks at you. He's like, where's your master? Who owns you?

Rich

It's like robot skin. I don't like skin. Oh, I don't...

Rich

I'm not a slave, dude. What the fuck?

Jake

He's like, I didn't say you were. I just confused. I don't see your lone robots around these parts.

Rich

fucking racist, man. The fuck?

Jake

I'm not, I'm not trying to be, I'm just ignorant. I'm like, I can change. I just didn't, I just never, I didn't, I've never seen one of you guys alone before.

Rich

It's fine. These things happen from time to time. I don't mean to get too stressed out. I'm just going to go find me a bar to help blow off this team. Which direction is the bar, by the way?

Jake

He's like, he's like this, he's like, yeah, he's like,

Jake

He's like, that's okay. He's like, it's back there. He's like, I got a... He's like, hold on. Let me just... Are you magical?

Rich

You need a moment for her to collect yourself. Are you all right?

Jake

No, he's like, it's fine. It's just kind of, he's like, you know, when you get stuck saying the same thing, he's like, you know, when you work in a sandwich shop and everybody, and somebody comes to you with like a crazy in order. So you got to like, just, you know, read your brain for a second. He's like, I, he's like, are you magical?

Rich

I haven't called a lot of things. I'm a...

Rich

No more than the average person, I suppose. Aren't we all? Aren't we all?

Pat table talk

The magic of science.

Jake

Are you powered by any crazy batteries?

Rich

Well, I'm an android, so I do have like an internal battery. I think. I don't really know. I've never popped my phone. I don't really know how this works.

Pat table talk

He's declaring a battery.

Pat

Do you have any proofs to declare, Rich?

Jake

He's like, yeah, me neither. He's like, are you a weapon of destruction?

Pat

I've destroyed many things in my life.

Rich

No.

Rich

Sorry, I've never been asked that question before.

Jake

Peace out.

Jake

He pounds on your chest with the back of his finger. He's like, can you open that for me?

Rich

I can't actually, that would kill me.

Rich

Can you open your chest?

Jake

No, I can't. I guess that was a fair question. Right back at you on that one. Okay. Huh.

Rich

I get it again when new things, new people.

Jake

He's like, can you open your mouth, I guess?

Rich

Um,

Jake

And he looks inside his mouth and he's like, sign right here, sir. He gives you the pen.

Pat

Well, I did my job.

Rich

Have a good day.

Rich

I signed Findelberg.

Rich

I was never given a surname.

Rich

And then me and...

Jake

Okay, Cher.

Rich

Back towards the rest of the people.

Jake

Then he flies down.

Jess

Are there any good smells?

Jake

Oh yeah, there's plenty of them. Lavender is a good one. Cinnamon buns. Bacon. Oddly enough, a beaver fart. A beaver fart smells great.

Pat

Sounds like cherries.

Jess

Those...

Jess

intoxicating. Okay, cool. Just wondering.

Jake

I got you.

Jake

And out of your necks, he looks at you. He's like, thank you, sir. He's like, yeah, you can't fly over. He's like, sign up to this way. I appreciate you. It's been a hassle today. I didn't want to go grab another one of you fuckers.

Nutty

Yep, understandable.

Jake

No weapons, no batteries for the player? No, you don't have any weapons of destruction on you?

Jake

And here you are. What do you sign?

Jake

What are Donnie and Ashleen's names?

Rich

And Pat McCrotch.

Jake table talk

Pat my crotch is fucking so good. Yeah.

Pat table talk

Little C, Big C.

Pat table talk

Yeah, I'm going to remember that one. Bro, I've never heard that in my life.

Jake table talk

I'm going to start calling you McCross, crap. I'm going to start calling you McCross. Oh, my God. That one tickled. That was so good. I went down like a cold glass of milk. Oh, fuck. I love you, dude.

Rich table talk

I'm glad I can do this.

Jake table talk

My crotch. Oh, God.

Pat table talk

You know, when you hear something, you're like, saving that for later.

Jake table talk

Yeah. crotch is such a funny fucking word and if oh

Rich table talk

Yeah.

Jake table talk

Sorry, I'm gonna take a second.

Rich table talk

laughter

Jake table talk

It's so clean too. There's not a dirty thing inside. It's innuendo. That's fucking church humor. It's so good.

Ozan table talk

I think it's Irish, right?

Jake

And what was the other name?

Rich table talk

few more butts

Jake table talk

See more votes.

Jake table talk

This guy's got a fucking Moe's Tavern call sheet. All right. Good job, everybody.

Rich table talk

It was our greatest achievement.

Nutty table talk

What, good job getting registered?

Jake table talk

Seriously. Seriously. You guys, you guys, you guys, you guys, there were 30 seasons of Simpson jokes.

Pat table talk

Before we got through TSA.

Jake table talk

Which used to be a killer bit. It used to be such a good bit. They used to show it every week on television.

Rich table talk

what they want.

Rich table talk

You know, it was good enough to get me chuckling again, in all honesty. I appreciate it.

Jake table talk

Pat my crotch, dude. It's a dude. Old jokes are the best jokes, man. Some of them hit it.

Jake

I'm a traveling salesman. Okay, Pat, let's start with you.

Jake

You just can't. Not stay in trouble, can you? Can you, old Patty?

Pat

I don't like signing shit.

Jake

He just... I know you don't. It's the run in that attack that got... The self-escalation is just...

Jake

You're like, fuck this guy. I start running. I start taking off running in front of the cops. That's what I decided to run.

Pat

Wait.

Pat

A panic, Jake. But thankfully I looked like Conan O'Brien at the time.

Jake

You could have done you could have done fucking anything. You could have said I'm sorry. You could have not flown over the gates of the city.

Jake table talk

I love it.

Pat

next to the dudes when they're far enough away from those dickheads. And then I drop. I dropped my alter self and I dropped my invisibility and I changed my clothes to those brown clothes and wired at that point.

Pat

What happened?

Jake

You do the old gather and shuffle where you're just like, up, put on the clothes and then dump them in a dumpster.

Pat

Pretty much.

Jake

All right, that's in the front of the city.

Jake

It's just buzzing. This city is fucking packed. I want to say like Almost half a million people in it.

Jake

This thing is live wire.

Connor table talk

Did we figure out where the Magikarp for Red was?

Jake

Yeah, the Magic Carpet Ride is on the outskirts of the city. That's where the race is. That's where everyone's starting to go and get up. It's going to be in a couple days. The sign-in sheet tent is...

Jake

You don't know. He's got in the city.

Jake

So like I said, it's just buzzing. There's just nothing but the front tents. There's all merchants. There are pretty big buildings out here. They're all stacked on the top of each other.

Jake

Rows and rows. It's like any normal city next to the gates. A high traffic area. When you come and you leave, you buy trinkets. This is where you get all your good stuff. This is where merchants stock up. Basically, like an industry wall leaving out and then going into residential.

Jake

And everyone was just coming by and moving. You have a couple people like He's hawking just crazy ass, stupid colorful wares for over, you know, that are obviously overpriced. But if you got the money, you know, you buy something.

Jess

I want to find a tavern, the one with the yummiest smells.

Rich

one with the other.

Pat

Same Zs. Yeah, I mean, that sounds great.

Jess

The one that like maybe smells like bacon or like they got a stew going. That's the one.

Jake

They're like, man,

Pat

We go to the fucking bar.

Rich

I'm going to cast knowledge. Do I know with a...

Connor

Yeah, it's definitely kind of a tavern.

Rich

Let's see what this gets to. Do I know with a 22 if I need to have like a special permit to be able to set up a little a stall overnight like a booth?

Jake

Yes, you do.

Rich

Now, never mind.

Connor

Goddamn fascists.

Jake

They're capitalists. It's the same thing.

Jess

Seriously.

Jake

It's the same thing.

Rich

have money for permits, so never mind.

Jake

Well, you can, well, with that booth, you can make more money. So you just pay, it seems like a pretty legit system.

Connor

Pay the fines.

Jake

Yeah. You will. I mean, what you're doing is you're paying money for the city to provide you something that everybody pays for. So and you're out of towners. So if you come in and you pay for that money is going to go to good schools, water filtration.

Rich

Oh, money is the thing. So I don't, I can't do that.

Jake

Well, if you sign up to be a resident here, I mean, they'd be more than happy to supply you with a couple of good things.

Rich

All good.

Jake table talk

Right, fuck fascists.

Rich table talk

I'm dragging my name down in places.

Pat table talk

And socialists.

Rich table talk

I don't like it.

Jake table talk

Yeah, fuck civilization.

Pat table talk

Yeah, fuck them.

Rich table talk

Like to say, given our play style, it's a very prudent decision.

Pat table talk

Suck prudes.

Rich table talk

Ha

Jake

While you guys are walking, you obviously can go into the first bar you see. It's a... It's got a couple tables out front. A little fence around it, a little low. There's a guy smoking and all drinking outside the fence. It looks pretty relaxed. It's a good bar. They're not going to be an asshole and bug you for your fucking time just because you're doing something that's not really their property anyway, and they know it.

Jake

It's got a

Jake

The symbol of a rook on it is its tavern hanging swinging thing. It's Banner.

Jake

You guys go in. It's pretty fucking full. People are having a good time.

Jess

All right. Does this look like a...

Jake

You hear a couple people talking about the races and about who they're betting on.

Jess

Who they betting on.

Jake

You're seeing...

Jess

Standing right behind them and just stopping suddenly, you know, kind of like milling about, I eavesdrop.

Jake

Yeah, you got your arms on the bar table, you know. They're sitting at the bar as well. You're just waiting for your drink or what have you. And you hear a goblin sticking his finger into a dwarf's ear. He's bugging him. He's like, nah, man, dude, Bidey Duck's got it. Any other

Jake

The other dwarves are like, nah, man. Nimbus Knights won last year. He's like, I got fucking 20 gold right on that right now. And the fucking goblin shakes his hand.

Jake

And this super cute three-titted typhling comes up and she's like, how many?

Pat

She caught my attention.

Rich table talk

Are there only three of us? Thought you were asking me how many boobs.

Jake

Oh, she's like, you know, I got a fourth one in the back if you're nasty. Now, how many people with you, sugar?

Jess table talk

SPEAKER 1

Jake

How many of you are receiving today?

Jake

She's like, okay, she grabs eight menus.

Jake

She sits down at a booth.

Jess

Hell yeah.

Jake

And she takes her bra down and flashes Rich for their three titties and she winks at him. She's like, I like it. She's like, I like my men meddling in uniform. And she fucking goes back. She's like, what you drinking?

Rich

They give a big dub-up.

Jake table talk

Fuck yeah, dude. If I was a chicken, I flash somebody by tits and they gave me a thumbs up, I word.

Pat

Ask if they have any dragon chili.

Jake

She's like,

Jake

She's like, I wouldn't call it dragon chili, but it's hot as fuck. Is that a euphemism or did they actually make that? I think we have that here. Is that chili from a dragon or...

Pat

I will have nothing.

Pat

maybe a magic mushroom risotto

Jake

She just...

Jess

I'll have whatever that delicious smell is and a beer, please.

Jake

Okay. She's like, that's the soup of the day. It's mushroom.

Jake

And she's like, how many beers? And she holds up eight fingers.

Jess

Hell yeah.

Pat

I really shouldn't drink. I have a drinking problem.

Jake

And she goes, seven beers? And then she goes, wow. Wow.

Pat

Thanks be here.

Jake

Yeah. Sorry, that was, sorry, yeah. So let's see, six beers.

Jake

And she goes and she takes off.

Jess

I'm going to ask her about the hot goss when she gets back.

Jake

Hot ass goss.

Pat

The hog.

Jake table talk

That wasn't the mute button.

Pat table talk

Hmm.

Pat

We gotta find a magic carpet.

Pat

Maybe we can get a sponsorship.

Jess

Are you on the lam? Did you successfully evade justice?

Pat

I mean, I didn't sign in. I guess that's on the lam. I don't even know what it looked like.

Pat

Fuck these motherfuckers.

Jess

I forgot you were in disguise. Good move.

Pat table talk

Yeah, I was killing O'Brien up with that bitch. I'll run. I don't give a shit.

Pat table talk

Okay, well...

Pat

Definitely need to register for this race. We need to figure out a good team name.

Pat table talk

It's break time, I guess.

Pat table talk

I want to hear from Jakey.

Jake

So the waitress comes back. Hands out your fucking drinks. You hear her murmuring. Everyone's excited.

Rich

Got me.

Jess

Got any hot goss?

Jake

She's like, yeah, what are you talking about? The races are here.

Jake

Everybody's lined up for it. Everybody's got money. There's two racers left. The announcement in that paper hasn't gone back with who they are. But she's like, usually the slots fill up. Sometimes they don't. Usually they're down one. So the max is six. It's a fucking death race.

Jess

That's true, Lisa.

Jake

It's a good year for tips.

Pat

Has it already started?

Jake

Other than that, they got a whole bunch of Coltis next week. No, they haven't started. It starts in three days.

Jake

It's a holding event.

Jess

What about cultists?

Jake

Oh, she's like, there were a couple cultists like last week. So they tried to start getting some shit. A couple people were stabbed outside the bar. It's not a thing that normally happens. We usually are pretty safe around here. But the guards got to it. Pretty nice.

Jess

What sort of cult were they in?

Jake

She's like, you guys aren't cultists, are you? And she points at you.

Jess

No.

Rich

No.

Pat

No.

Rich

We do have at least one religious zealot, but we're pretty sure it's not a cult.

Jake

She's like, oh, she's like, well, she's like, that's good. I was raised in a cult.

Rich

I don't know.

Jake

She's like, are you guys going to sign up for the race?

Rich

actually looking to race but what happened to be without carpets

Pat

Absolutely.

Rich

Do you know if there's anybody looking for a team? Anybody with deep pockets wanting to fund some upstart go-getters looking to prove themselves and whatnot?

Jake

She's like a Magic Carpet Racing Team without a carpet. She's like... Up the river without a paddle. He's like, I don't know. He's like sponsoring...

Rich

Certainly somebody could sponsor us. Somebody wants to throw their name on the side of a carpet.

Rich

Any particular businesses in the area you can think that might want to fund, might be open to such an offer if we could woo them?

Jake

She's like, well, she's like, yeah, I mean,

Jake

this is the place to buy i don't know what they usually run for maybe like eight maybe like 12 000 i'm not really sure

Jake

But she's like,

Rich

This whole outside funding thing comes in. We're just looking for the business that would be looking to... I don't know. Make its brand bigger. And so on.

Jake

She's like, well, I mean, she's like 10,000 GP, 8,000 GP a night. It becomes pretty costly here. Whoring's not a bad idea. I used to be a whore myself in the cult.

Jake

She's like, I wasn't able to clear anything like that. A couple of high rollers made these something.

Rich

What would be that per night? Once you get one, assuming you don't die on it, like you've got the flying curse.

Jake

She's like, hey, buddy, these are non-magical three tits, all right?

Rich

I

Jake

I was doing pretty well.

Jake

I just wish I had a twin. If I had a twin, me and my sister would have made bank.

Jake

She's like writing down her pad. She's like, I went to school for that shit.

Jake

Oh, hell yeah, there's a magical school for whores.

Rich

God bless.

Jake

She's like, this is a pretty low established bar. We're not looking for anybody. She's like, the only thing we could basically sponsor is our softball team.

Jake

But she writes down

Jake

She writes down the directions for Greg's And she's like, here, she gives it to you. She's like, that's, she's like, that's a magic carpet shop. She's like, I don't know if they're looking for sponsors, but that would be the best place to get like a solid carpet.

Pat

Let's roll.

Rich

We'll see what we can do. Thank you.

Pat

Yes.

Rich

type of shop. Everybody. Collectively. What type of shops should we hit to try and get sponsored by? Because we can't afford this shit.

Pat

Sex toy shop. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Rich

anybody's got ideas we can hit the carpet shop straight and try to talk them into it

Rich

Show off that they've got the best carpets.

Rich

There's got to be a way we can do this for freebies. Just merely at great risk to life and limb.

Jess

Has she already left the table?

Jake

Yes.

Jess

Shit. Okay.

Jake

She's running around the bar, though.

Jess

Okay, deal. We're at a booth, not at the bar.

Jake

You know, you know, in this culture, it's not rude to say, hey, excuse me, because, you know, that's their job.

Jess

Got it. Okay. I flag her down. I want to ask more questions about this cult.

Jess

Who they worship and

Jess

Where'd they go?

Jess

Where do they come from?

Jake

Yeah, she tells us. She's like, it was actually kind of crazy. Basically, what I heard was they were worshipping this demon called Slut Nesh, and

Jake

And they all like they would all have like that was like the thing that I think was like a red robe. No, like a shirt dick in under the robe. And like long like thigh stockings like cross knit stockings. It was actually kind of hot.

Pat table talk

Yeah, Winnie the Pooh.

Jake

No matter what they were, they were pretty nice legs, like everybody. And they wore high heels. It was fucking pretty crazy. And they were trying to bring this fucking sex demon and blow up the whole entire city.

Jess

see cold.

Jess

You know what, sex demon?

Jake

slut Nesh. I don't know what she looks like, but that was basically what...

Pat

What?

Jake

they got a couple cultists because you know they were they were having rituals just like

Jake

their rituals to like bring it in was like everybody's like just basically like fucking each other to death. And it's just crazy stuff. They did it inside one of our grocery stores, underneath it. One of my nephews was pretty bad in the cult. And they ended up fucking her and killing her. And to give the demon its power so it could rise out of the realm. You know how demons are.

Jess

under the

Pat

Super total dicks.

Jess

Under what grocery store?

Jake

Oh, my cousins? It's called the Eaton Leek. It's on the west side of the city.

Jess

So, you know,

Jake

Yeah, it's still under forendex. Yeah. The whole thing shot down. They're still trying to figure out. Apparently, it was a new cult. No one's ever heard of this shit. But they were about it. I don't think it's real. I just think they were... I think it was a choke jerk gone wrong.

Jess

They're having a demon summoning orgy there. Okay.

Jess

to it.

Pat table talk

We could be called the choke jerks.

Jess table talk

You should be called the show. Sure.

Jake table talk

Ha.

Jess

I'm dead. God damn it. Who was in charge of like who cares most about this in this town?

Jess

Is it the fucking guards? Because I won't help them.

Jake

Yeah. Everything's kind of in sex. Sex, not sex. They, you know... Basically the church, the main church in town. It's multi-religious, but they have their own religious law. Just like...

Jake

They're more investigators, I would say. So they just make sure everything's like, you know, you don't break a couple of rules when you're in here. You know, your church isn't allowed to embezzle or I mean, they can they can have like a what they call like banquets and stuff where they raise money and, you know, you just do it ethically. You don't steal from people and mail them with like, you know, there's no mails. you know, envelopes telling everybody to just throw a dollar in, you know, you kind of have to do that. And there kind of has to be a little record of it. So the church, the church, so the,

Jess

And they don't fuck people with it.

Jake

Not unless that was your religion signed inside of the city. If you guys had a law to do that, then you'd be heavily washed and regulated. But no, I personally think any religion that asks somebody to fuck them to death, you know, what do you get to go to heaven where you get fucked to death in heaven? I mean, like, you know, where does that go? But I'm not I'm not religious, so I wouldn't understand.

Jess

Where does it end? Where does it end? Where indeed?

Jess table talk

One vote for checking out the grocery store later.

Connor

I'd say we'd get sponsored by a fucking barf.

Rich

We might be able to get sponsored by that fucking carpet. place like quite explicitly I don't what was the name of it You gave us directions.

Pat

regs.

Jake

Rags.

Rich

Yeah, let's go there.

Rich

See if we can... Get something.

Rich

Maybe they don't have a team yet and they want one. Or their team died tragically in the last races or something. I don't know.

Ozan

Let's go, let's go.

Jake

All right.

Jake

It's a, when you went up to the shop, it's fucking really nice. It's got different patterns of rugs, they're all rolled up, they're labeled, they got signs on them. They feel like the electric eel and everything like that. Double doors are open. You got like, when you go in, there's special places where

Jake

They're repairing the rugs in front that are broken and damaged. people with masks on and like visors, like taking heat to them, doing shielding.

Jake

You see a couple other people in the corner, like, writing spells on the rugs and, like, giving them the old whoosh, and, like, you just see magical dust fly off.

Jake

You see a

Jake

You see a pretty withered human guy. He's in the back. He's got a visor on and a pencil behind his ear.

Jake

He's like, hey, he's like, hello, welcome.

Rich

I think that's a...

Rich

My man. My man.

Pat table talk

Man.

Jake

He's like, my man. Back to you guys.

Rich table talk

laughter

Pat table talk

laughs

Rich

We won't take the lead.

Jake

He's like, I'm Greg.

Rich

Hi, Greg.

Jake

Here's my shot.

Jake

He's like, it's pronounced Greg.

Pat table talk

Mm-hmm.

Jake

My man.

Pat table talk

Hmm.

Jess table talk

I like dogs.

Jake

Love, Dags.

Jake

He's like, what can I do for you?

Rich

looking to see if you wanted to sponsor slash fund our carpet race in this upcoming death match i know we know the crew has come and go, but they die too often. Like, you can definitely throw us into this with no worry that we're going to come back at you. Just put us in a fast one. We'll win you some prestige.

Jake

You go, oh, a couple deaths happen every year, eh? Like, well,

Rich

I cast comprehend languages on myself.

Rich

I wish I could. I wish I could.

Jake table talk

Ha.

Pat table talk

I ain't even coming here and I'm gonna ruin the rest of it.

Jake

It's just the same. That's so fucked up. He's like, let's speak in English. What do you fucking mean to comment in English? Let's speak in common.

Rich

I hope you

Jess table talk

country

Pat table talk

Yeah.

Rich table talk

It's not a comprehensible language.

Jake table talk

No.

Pat table talk

laughs

Jake table talk

You kind of got me there on a technicality.

Rich

I'm going to go.

Jake

I just, for some reason, like, I don't think I can mentally slow it down. He's like, okay. I'm trying to like, I don't know how they would talk to somebody to slow down their words. Oh, it's so funny. It's an accent thing, not a speed thing. Yeah. Well, he's talking to you. That's just so funny.

Jake

And he's like, yeah, he's like, yeah, people die every year. He's like, I was, he's like, I sponsored the races last year. Sponsored two of them. He's like, and both died. He's like, but they gave me good collateral. So that's all good. He's like, so you guys are signed up, huh? He's like, any word on the, on the last racer? He's like, who are you?

Rich

actually signed up yet. We're coming in with nothing. We're hoping that Our skills and your carpets can together make this happen. We're looking for a sponsorship. And you money.

Jake

He's like, oh, he's like, oh, okay. He's like, oh, you guys need to sign up. You go to Louise. She's a fucking impeccable woman. Hot as, don't let her eyes fool you. She's pretty as hell, but you talk to that lady, you send her my love. You sign up. He's like, okay, well, he's like, well, go get your signups and get your paperwork in order. He's like, and we could probably have a lot to price for our carpet. Maybe some of the winnings too. But you'll be wearing my brand on you.

Rich

That goes without saying.

Jake

He's like, I got, he's like, I had time.

Rich

We want to bring water to the greatness.

Jake

He's like, yeah, he's like, I'll have to, I'll have to, he's like, I'll drop plans. He's like, it's done, it's done for a couple of days. So I'll just drop some plans for how I want, for how, for how I'm, he's like, I thought myself I wouldn't sponsor this year. Roll. I'm going to roll.

Jake

He's like, how many are you guys racing?

Rich

Well, we have eight at our disposal. How many fit on...

Connor

I mean, we could up the odds by, you know, taking two rugs. Maybe split up into two teams.

Rich

Whatever the

Connor

If it's too many for one.

Jake

He's like that.

Jake

He's like, no, Max is 10 this year. He's like, that's a pretty good idea. He's like, you're going to all die all the same anyway.

Rich

up into two, yeah. Doesn't it double our chances of dying? You know what I mean. We don't have to kill each other.

Jake

Oh, you all got the same chances of dying.

Rich

We don't have to kill each other. We could, but we don't have to.

Pat table talk

Impossible.

Jake

So he points in the direction. He's like, yeah, it's just outside the gates. Or not outside the gates. He's like, just inside the gates. He's like, that's where the signup is.

Jake

He's got a big old booth right there. Luis should be holding it. He looks at his hand that doesn't have a watch on it. He's like, just about maybe sundown today.

Jake

He's like, I also, he's like, I got a bar in the back. He's like, I don't have lodging.

Jake

But... What do you guys, you guys coming into a city with no money?

Rich

It's not enough for a carpet. Just not enough for a carpet. I have no money.

Jake

He looks at you. He looks at you. He looks at you. He's like, you aren't cultists, are you?

Rich

No, just... Just recently spent all the money. I'm actually a crafter of magical items as well. I just happen to spend all my money fixing up some swag.

Connor

Not quite, wink.

Jake

He's like, oh, okay. He goes, he goes up, he walks behind the counter. He looks up to you and he's like, oh, he's like puts his hands in your like mouth and shit. And he points over to Ozan and he's like, this is your magical crafting bot.

Rich

I'm sure you understand.

Jake

It's in good stock, good shape.

Jess

And I say, what?

Jess

Yeah I'm not, right?

Ozan

Well, he's his own person.

Jess

I'm not writing him.

Jake

Get off me, bitch. Damn, she's on there pretty snug, though. That was a good ride check.

Jess

Oh, sorry, baby.

Jake

Yeah, he's chill. He's... Yeah, he's...

Jess

is chill.

Jake

He seems to be telling the truth, yeah.

Jess

Okay.

Jess

Asking about cults and shit. Like, are you in a cult?

Jake

What, do you think I'm some weirdo who believes in one monetary, like, one God made it all? Yeah, fucking right. He's got to build my house as an eight-man job. Fuck you talking about. Get out of here.

Rich table talk

Ha.

Jake

crazy people.

Jake

He's like, this is a good bot. He's like, how much you pay for it?

Ozan

Oh, you're priceless.

Rich

I'm actually not owned.

Jake

What do you mean he's priceless?

Rich

Free bot. Free bot.

Jake

You bought them for free. He's still looking at Ozone.

Ozan

He's free in a different sense.

Jake

It's like, wow.

Jake

I mean, like, Okay.

Ozan

Don't think about it too hard. It's all right.

Jake

He pounds on his chest. Rich, is that hollow inside your chest? Like Bender?

Rich

No, I don't believe so. I do not believe so.

Jake

Exactly.

Rich

As I understand, I'm closer to the androids from Alien than Bender.

Ozan

Out of curiosity though, how much would you pay?

Rich

It's hard to put a price on the life, but apparently I'm getting priced out. This motherfucker's going to lowball, I'm sure. This is bullshit.

Jake

I mean, it's easy to put a price on life. I mean, you're talking to a man of his own magical wares. I'll put a damn price on anything. Well, for this, I'd have to see what he could do since he's, you know, just since he's a robot or not a robot. Yeah.

Rich

or so.

Ozan

He's great at making carpets.

Jake

Yeah, so, I mean, for automaton, it's pretty pricey, especially for the battery life. But, I mean, I could make a thousand carpets for them. So that's, you know. He works all night, I assume. Mmm.

Ozan

Doesn't sleep.

Ozan

and loves the job.

Jake

Oh, they don't love anything. They're soulless creatures.

Rich

You know what?

Jake

Uh,

Rich

Why don't you talk to us about your singular god there?

Ozan

Aren't we all?

Jake

Oh, I believe in many gods. I'm not monotheistic. Fucking losers. your soul gets splits up and goes into the volcano to burn off all your emotions like fear and anger and all that stuff and

Jake

And then it comes out to the volcano and forms the many gods who get divided on him. I mean, it's easy peasy stuff. It's in the book, you know, just fucking read it. Would you?

Jake

He's like, but of course there's five books for each child. And I'm a man of literature. He's like, but I didn't bore you. He's like, we're talking about business.

Jake

Money is a human problem or a mortal problem.

Rich

We're going to go sign up now. Have a good day. We'll be back, Greg.

Jake

See you soon, boys.

Jake table talk

I love the fact that everybody can just, I just doesn't believe rich is a real thing. For some reason. I think it's funny as shit.

Rich table talk

This is what...

Jake table talk

And the fact that they could even think about it being racist is its own thing. They're like, what do you mean? It doesn't have a soul. Like, I can't be racist against it. I'll kick this toaster.

Rich table talk

One more reason why it's important I know escape magic.

Rich table talk

Actually, I do have a soul.

Jake

You do have a soul. I know, but these are dummies who can't craft, you know? They're just simple folks, you know? Idiots.

Rich table talk

Androids do have souls.

Rich table talk

But

Jake table talk

Any wizards like yeah of course like oh you made a free one that's nuts.

Rich

I've got you. Bring him! And always keeping a teleport in the back pocket in case people try to take me as an object.

Jake table talk

It's like the world sees you as a talking chair. Oh shit, is that a drill that can talk? Fucking nuts.

Rich table talk

Ha.

Rich table talk

Like that's us in our campaigns often enough.

Jake

I'll see you guys leaving the shop.

Jake

Or staying, wouldn't it? Check it around. This looks like this is like you can you can you can tell there's just like once you walk into the shop like the light is reflecting, you know, the candle lights on top of reflecting on the floors on bottom. This is a pretty clean ass dope establishment. They are making and hucking these rugs.

Jake

There's a, there's a, There's a veil in the back. The back half of his shop has curtains on it, and you see little glows of light going on behind him. You see a little underglow from the bottom of the curtains.

Jake

They're like stress testing them and all this cool shit. You had a couple of workers in the back, like with goggles on, like, you know, like stretching the rugs as far as they possibly can go and snapping them back to places.

Jess

Do you just sell rugs here?

Jess

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm just wondering if there's like a back room or, you know, like under the counter, so to speak.

Jake

I mean, yeah, I mean, you know, anything we have to make the rugs, I can, you know, I can put it off for like a way higher price, but I, you know, to make the best rugs, you got to use the best equipment, right?

Jake

I mean, he's like...

Jake

You know, he leans over and he's like, I got some pretty fine silks too.

Jake

He's like, I got that illegal valour.

Rich

Go on. It's real velour.

Jake

Go on.

Jess

No, thank you. Unless you're speaking in code.

Jess

If these are actually silks.

Jake

He goes to the back of a hand again to you. He goes, I'm actually not.

Connor

I was in fucks.

Jess table talk

Ha.

Jake

Dude, Greg Fox. You sense that on your sense vibe. You're like, damn, Greg Fox.

Jess

Five bucks. That's what Sense Vibes told me. All right, I'm going to go sign up.

Jake table talk

I'm going to start every vibe check now. If this guy or girl does or does not fuck.

Jess

Go sign up for a magic carpet race. I'm outie.

Jake

It's not really, it's more of a, it's more of a little stand, a little roundy that she's got held up by a couple of good boards.

Jake

There's a It's a pretty stacked orc in black leather next to this fiery-ass elf with red hair. Got some pretty kick-ass leather armor on.

Jake

You see, there's a book and a ledger. She's just sitting there talking to him.

Jake

Who rolls up?

Jake

Side of sheets, all nice. It's been a slow day. It looks like no one's no one's entering this bitch. No one's eager to.

Jess table talk

Put it on a name.

Jake

Looks like nobody's been there for days.

Jess table talk

Are we the choking stroke still?

Rich table talk

We the

Rich table talk

No.

Rich table talk

Team, what's the team name? So now we're doing one team of eight on a larger carpet, or are we doing two teams of four?

Connor

Well, two teams requires twice the sponsorship, right?

Nutty table talk

I don't think two teams might not be the best idea since... If we don't actually have a full team, then that other team is going to be completely fucked if Donnie is out of town or something like that.

Nutty table talk

three guys and there's just one guy by himself on a rug

Jake

Exactly. Just getting bombed at. They're like, damn, you got to fly this rug and defend yourself?

Nutty

You'll be in trouble.

Rich

on the win list. That's the motherfucker who's gonna win. Just going balls out all alone. Fucking going. Yep. Nobody will see it come.

Jake table talk

Be the Luigi.

Jake table talk

Just stand in Mario Party. If you just, yeah, if you stand as Luigi in some of the games and everybody dies around you win. That's fucking sick.

Jake

She's just showing you. She's like, and here's your paperwork.

Jake

She's like, do you guys have a rug?

Rich

We don't. We're actually, we're working that right now. Greg sent us down.

Jake

She's like, oh, Greg, she's like, she's like that. That bad motherfucker. He doesn't call me. I gave him my fucking. I told him he could scribe me anytime.

Rich

That was...

Jake

And she's like, If you're going to get a rug from him, he's going to try to give you some collateral. Or you're going to have to give him some collateral. He's going to try to worm you out of extra money, too. He takes pretty hefty feet, but there's no better rugs than Greg's. Stick to the races every ride on some of his specialties. Other than that,

Jess

Gina, did past teams offered as collateral?

Rich

You know what?

Jake

I mean, yeah, how is anything worth the price of a rug? Not really. I don't really know, but he seems to be a fair man. He's a little demon in the bedroom.

Jake

I was his first and third wife. Hey.

Rich table talk

laughs

Jess table talk

Might have to pick your brain later.

Jake

She said, so what are you guys called?

Rich

Actually still deciding that as a team or we're gonna take a boat in a moment. We'll get back to you

Jess table talk

face McCullens. The weeping under.

Jake

She looks at me. She's like, that's not good. I'm going to give you guys time, okay? She's like, yeah, I'd save her for that. You guys can meet me before the race starts. She's like, I'll get you approved so we can blow you off on the horn.

Jake

And she's like, just sign your names here and I'll meet with Greg. at the end, probably like tomorrow. And he'll guys, I'll make sure you guys have your own slot set up. She's like, you are seven. And she hands you this big, heavy, like nice piece of onyx that's a seven on it. And she's like, don't lose that. That's your ticket to get it.

Rich

put it in my bag.

Jake

She's like the completion and the winning of the race gets 50,000. And the Rugman.

Jake

But has that been disclosed? They haven't even told me what's in it yet.

Rich

Do you know...

Rich

an appropriate size rug for a team would cost.

Rich

So 12,000, 8,000.

Jake

An appropriate size rug? Yeah. I mean, I mean, well, it all depends.

Jake

So the, no rug can go faster. No one in the race. No rug can go faster than 70 feet per second.

Jake

Manually. So anything else you do outside of it to make it go faster, that's kind of your own stick. But that rug can't. So that's basically the only cap on the race.

Jake

So, I mean, that's going to cost it easy, like 11 Gs.

Jake

Anything at its own spell component cost or anything like that.

Jake

And there's some killers out there.

Rich

Team, how do we want to do this?

Ozan

I follow you as team captain.

Rich

if I don't want to do that.

Ozan

Well, you get a vote too.

Connor

I vote Rich Team Captain also.

Rich

My vote Ozone, Team Captain.

Rich

Oh,

Jake

Lois looks at you and she's like, Democracy, fucking fascists.

Rich table talk

laughter

Ozan

It has to be God's will.

Rich table talk

Ha.

Ozan

Just looks like democracy.

Rich table talk

Ha.

Ozan table talk

What was our name again?

Rich table talk

think we ever actually decided that. I was trying to get the team involved.

Ozan table talk

Oh, we didn't commit to it.

Jake

If you don't pick a team name by the end of tomorrow, you're going to be shaky legs or whatever she said.

Rich table talk

The late face of Collins.

Jake table talk

The leg-faced McCullens.

Rich table talk

That's what I'm doing.

Jake

She's like, hey, if you guys actually win, that name could actually be cool.

Ozan table talk

I think the name is Sirocco.

Rich table talk

to Rock Elk.

Rich

And secondly, how do we want to go about buying this thing? Do we want to do the split the deal with Home Dude where he's going to make sure to hold collateral? Because I'm not comfortable with that.

Ozan

Behind the carpet? Collateral?

Ozan

How much is the carpet? Is it 15K? What's the carpet?

Rich

Probably 11 or something like that. But either way, do we want to try and come up with 11K and just buy it out for

Ozan

Yes, I have a good idea. All right, so let's go back to the guy.

Ozan

You have so much to contribute. You just have no idea.

Rich

I'm not going to, you're not going to sell me to this guy.

Ozan

I would never sell you to the guy. I'm just saying, let's just put you up for collateral.

Rich

So, I will party kill to defend my freedom.

Jess

I will already kill.

Jess

I have one day.

Ozan

We would never sell you.

Jess

I have 1K on it.

Jake

I gotta care on it

Connor

How much do we need?

Jess

Isn't it 11K for a...

Ozan

Can you go back to, was it Greg? Do we have to make the deal with Greg, Jake? Alright, we go back to Greg to make the deal for the carpet.

Jake

Hey, guys, it comes in.

Jess table talk

Wait, but we have to sign up first and we can't sign up until we come up with a name.

Rich table talk

I can't stand until it comes to the name.

Ozan table talk

The name is Sirocco.

Jake table talk

Sir Roco.

Jess table talk

Can we all decide on that?

Rich table talk

Fine.

Jess table talk

Fine.

Ozan table talk

All right. Give me another name then.

Jess table talk

Dictatorship.

Nutty table talk

What was the... You can go Scorching Rays. We'll just go with Scorching Rays.

Jess table talk

I did.

Ozan table talk

Scorching Rays? Okay, Scorching Rays, that's the name.

Jake table talk

That shit hits.

Ozan

Go back to Greg.

Jake table talk

The McCrotches.

Ozan

Greg, we need a carpet.

Jess

No.

Ozan

What do you want?

Jake

I got your car. I hear you. He holds a scratch. He's like, I'm just kidding. That's a carpet joke.

Ozan

I love it, Greg. I bet that's why your wife has left you.

Jake

Oh man, you don't hear me like that.

Ozan

Twice.

Jake

he's like we got a joke we got a jokester here he's like well that's he's like that's crazy so he's like you see you guys racing He's like, I... He's like,

Jake

And you need a carpet from old Greg, do you?

Ozan

Like I need a creeper.

Jake

Well, I'll take... I'll take, I want to say, 20% of the winnings.

Jake

And I'll notch that off. So,

Ozan

Pretty steep, Greg.

Jake

What do you mean it's deep?

Ozan

You over here scratching your crotch, we're putting our lives online.

Jake

For what? I'm putting a rug on the line. For my lackeys. You better grease in my wheels.

Ozan

10%.

Jake

Deal.

Ozan

Where is this beauty?

Rich

Still, yeah, I was on.

Jake

He said, you come to the collateral.

Ozan

Lateral. What do you want? How much?

Jake

What you got? I need something worth at least. At least 9K. And a pinky promise.

Ozan

9K and 12%

Rich

And a pinky promise.

Connor

I don't want to touch his hands, but just sell what he does with his hands.

Ozan

5K and 10%.

Jake

What you got? What you got worth that? That kind of scratch. I mean, I'm not calling you guys a bunch of lollygagging liars around here, but I mean, you guys are going to go fly off to your death. No one's coming back. I'm not betting on you guys winning. I'm giving some free promotion out of the deal.

Ozan

5K?

Ozan

Greg, do you see this Android over here?

Ozan

I know, Greg, I have the best deal for you. This Android, even blown up, the parts alone, easily 10K. So that's the deal.

Jake

What can he do? Give me a demonstration of sorts.

Rich

Only if I die. I'm actually not on the table.

Ozan

Check out these wares that he crafted.

Jake

He grabs Richard's hand. He pushes everybody back like you're in a fucking damn circle about to serve.

Ozan

I show him the sleeve that he built.

Rich

No.

Jake

And he's like, what could you do? He's like, show me.

Rich

I can be indignant. Let me show you.

Jake

He's like my first wife.

Ozan

It's part of the appeal, Craig.

Rich

See? I can remind you of that time in your life that you loved that woman that you loved, I think, the third wife as well.

Jake

They better peel a fucking banana or I don't want it.

Jake

He's like, oh, it's cute. It's talking like people.

Jake

Pulls his tape around his neck and starts measuring it. He's like, what are you made out of, sir?

Rich

I cast Vanish.

Rich

And I walk out of the store.

Jake

He's like, oh, disappear robot. Nice.

Connor

I was like, did you just try and sell our friend?

Ozan

It's not selling. It's just collateral. We're going to win the race.

Rich

actually trying to sell me I'm not going on collateral you can put yourself on collateral the society does slaves

Jake

He says that as he's walking out. Does Vanish make you go invisible? Cast that. Let me see it.

Rich

It lasts one turn per level. It is just a... Short and visibility.

Jake

I mean, even blown up. He looks at you and he's like, he's like, you're blown up. Parts are ugly and gross. I think he's walking out of here. He has a mind of his own.

Ozan

Greg, I know. It's a... Exactly. It's like next generation, Greg. That's why this deal makes so much sense for you. So do we have a deal or what?

Rich

Prepare to cast firewall.

Jake

He's like, nah, man. He's like, all I could do is bitch at you and walk off your robot. Shit.

Ozan

Hey, man, you left. You can't.

Jake

He's like, next gen, he's like, that's like having a car that beeps at you all the time. Or a rug that beeps at you all the time.

Ozan

Oh, you can reprogram it, Craig.

Jake

don't know how. You're going to give me a thing that I can spend more money? I don't want a project. What else you got?

Ozan

And I tried a car salesman, Greg, like with diplomacy here.

Jake table talk

You roll anything you want, daddy.

Ozan

I'm basically saying like if we win... He guessed the

Ozan

Well, if we win, he gets the cut. If we lose, he gets the parts of the robot.

Jess table talk

Can we vote on selling team members? Can we not vote on selling each other?

Jake table talk

You can vote.

Jake table talk

You guys can do whatever you want.

Jess table talk

Here's one vote for not selling each other. Just taking that off the table or things could get real...

Connor

I don't think we should sell, Rich.

Ozan

I think maybe you didn't hear the name of the game. What was it called again? What was it called again, Greg?

Jess table talk

PVP really fast.

Jake table talk

It's also ironic that like... What?

Ozan

The race. How many... What happens to the people who don't win?

Jake

Well, I mean, you know, there's no prize for second place.

Connor

We can always, you know,

Jake

But you die, right?

Ozan

We're calling it a death race, was it?

Connor

break Rich out as well, but we also might need him on the race.

Ozan

You die, right? Yeah, you die. So you either win or you die, right? Yeah. So either we win and we get the deposit back, right? That's the whole point of collateral.

Connor

It's all nothing anyways.

Jake

Well, I mean, you know, it's not either. It's winner takes all. But I mean, you could live, but the race is over when the one crosses the finish line.

Ozan

Exactly. So either we win and the collateral doesn't matter, or the collateral is the dead body of our Android. If we lose, you get to keep that. It's worth a lot of money.

Jess

I'd like to cast a hex on Ozon.

Jake

Roll me diplomacy.

Jake

Ozone.

Jess

Okay.

Jake

No, he's going to have to roll a wisdom check.

Jake

He's thinking, he's like, well,

Jake

Then I'd have to go pick up the robot.

Ozan

It's a lot of money, Craig.

Jake

The automaton.

Ozan

It's like almost as much as the winnings.

Jake

And you don't have enough money now for me to get 10%. So I have to spend labor to go get it.

Jess

Can I cast longer?

Jake

but he's like

Ozan

worth at least 15K.

Jess

Just slumber. Is that allowed?

Jake

You see him pull out this giant marble...

Jake

obelisk from the table. He starts moving things over and writing shit down, moving things over and writing shit down.

Jake

Hell yeah, what's up? Roll out, Will.

Ozan

What does Greg think, Tom?

Jess

Yeah, that's a DC of 18.

Jake

He's like, Greg's like, I'll take. With that,

Jake

You give me the user's manual. for that robot.

Ozan

Yeah, that comes standard. Come on.

Jake

It's too opinionated. Yeah, you work with me a day to reprogram them.

Ozan

Usually I charge for this, Greg, but I think for you... We'll make an exception. That's fine.

Jake

Okay, sounds good.

Jake

15% of the winnings.

Jake

If you win. If you survive.

Ozan

All right. I'm just trying to, I'm tired. I traveled a long way, 15% deal.

Jess

Oh, whoa. I'm sorry. As though we're doing him a favor by giving away one of us? Nah, 12%.

Jake

15% no deal.

Jess

I mean, like, I don't like this deal anyway. I walk out.

Ozan

I shake on the deal.

Jake

He shakes her hand.

Ozan

All right, where can I pick the carpet up?

Connor

No, I feel like we should get a better percentage if we're giving up one of our teammates. Teammate's going to be joining us.

Jake

He...

Jess

I also feel like more people should be involved than like three people's

Ozan

Guys, do you understand what collateral is? It's just in case you don't come back. You get the collateral back if you win.

Jess table talk

So if we put you up, like your character up, and we didn't come back, would your character be okay with that?

Ozan table talk

You didn't come back what?

Jess table talk

Like if we didn't come back from the race because we all died collateral, he gets to keep it.

Ozan

He gets to keep the dead body that was in the race.

Jake

Or the alive one.

Ozan table talk

Yeah, I guess a bit.

Jess table talk

die. We don't necessarily all die, though. I think he gets to keep it if we lose, regardless.

Ozan table talk

Yeah. Let's talk about this later, right? All right, Greg, where do we find the carpet?

Jess table talk

I mean, the time to talk about it was definitely before you steamrolled through doing that.

Ozan table talk

Let's, I get, we should totally talk about it just later. Not in front of Greg.

Ozan

So Greg, where do we pick up the carpet? I gotta get back to my bar.

Jake

He's like, oh, he's like, you can pick up the carpet tomorrow. He's like, because we got to make it today. He's like,

Ozan

Sounds good, Greg. I got to go talk to my partners over here.

Jess

I go outside and I tell the robot that about the entire conversation.

Jake

But you gotta pick out your shit.

Ozan

They cut my shit? Which...

Jake

Well, we gotta make the rug for you. I'm not just gonna grab you off the walls. You're gonna be riding in stag.

Jess

Android is now in the news.

Rich

I think I'm going to cast a fireball into here. Just so you guys know, I apologize for burning down the carpet store. But, you know, getting sold into slavery and whatnot.

Rich

If anybody objects, Say it now. I'm saying the sentence at the door, by the way.

Ozan

Don't do it, buddy. Don't do it.

Rich

You're the only person who's a pain that I'm not seriously on this one. So anybody else object or I'm casting it.

Ozan

That is literally the worst move.

Rich

Nobody?

Rich table talk

Hold on, hold on, hold on.

Jess table talk

We're doing a lot of deciding with like three people talking. Is anyone else like here? Is everybody asleep?

Ozan table talk

Can we move the conversation outside, though, like out of earshot of Greg? Can we just do that, please? Because we don't need to. If you want to fire the fireball, we can fire it in just a little bit.

Jake

He's like, go ahead. He's like, talk to your team. He's like, I want you to work on your rug. Why do I...

Rich

I think I'm going to fire this fireball. I think I'm going to fire this fireball.

Jake

So whenever you're finished, he's like, whenever you're finished, come on back in. He's like, we'll pick out the fabric, the spells. We'll do all that shit.

Ozan

Perfect. All right. So I run out and I kind of grab the Android and I tell him to chill out. Because these were words, not a blood pact with a devil.

Rich

pretty sure I'm going to fire this fucker.

Ozan

we got a carpet out of the whole situation. And given we decimated an entire town, I'm pretty sure if it comes to it, if it really comes to a carpet salesman demanding that we give him a slave of one of our carpet members, we'd probably make it out fine.

Rich

I'm going to burn down the shop now, just so you know, unless you go and do the deal and switch yourself in.

Ozan table talk

No, but I just told you all those things. What do you think about what I just told you?

Rich

I'm just letting you know. I'm going to go burn down. I'm going to fire it. Unless you go switch the deal for yourself.

Ozan

Why?

Ozan

Why are we going to burn town?

Ozan

We're not actually going to make you do anything. All we did was we just tricked Craig.

Rich

go ahead and say no.

Ozan

to what?

Rich

No.

Ozan

Yeah, I would also fight to not have you be enslaved by a carpet salesman. And I'm actually quite capable of doing that. I can beat the shit out of Greg.

Rich

I'm thinking I might cast it. So, sorry, no.

Rich

So we can undo it or I can burn this place down. Those are your options.

Connor

or is it a fucking ground

Ozan

All right, all right. I go back to Greg and I say, Greg, the deal's off.

Jake

He's like, okay, stop. He's like, stop, everybody. He's like, you shook my hand, man. No deal then. Then get your fucking ass out of my store.

Ozan

Yeah, I know. Robot got sick, you know, viruses and stuff. Things happen, Greg. Maybe we'll find something else for you, huh?

Jake

Sure, things happen. I hope you're fucking chalk.

Ozan

Fuck off, Craig.

Connor

We have ways to change this guy's memory out.

Rich

I would like to

Ozan

We also have probably the money between us.

Jess

I'd like to condition. Of course, that motherfucker.

Ozan

This was just a way of not having to give him any actual collateral.

Rich

And I appreciate that, but I was the collateral, so no.

Ozan

No, that's the thing. You weren't the collateral. The words of you were the collateral. There is never going to be a time in which there's a transfer of you, the entity, to Greg. That's...

Jake

Yeah, he was just using you as bait, just like he would use Pat as bait or Nutty as bait. You just got to win the race and not do that.

Ozan

There are a million ways to put it.

Ozan

He just happened to be interested in you.

Ozan

Yeah. Or we don't win the race and we just fucking walk. What the fuck is Greg going to do? He's a carpet salesman. Good God.

Jake

Fuck off. Yeah.

Jake

Yeah, dude, he's going to drag you down.

Ozan

But it's fine. I'm sure Greg will take money as well.

Rich

Don't like it. Principal thing. Don't sell me, motherfucker. Principal thing.

Rich

Traditionally, curse this guy.

Jess

The rug salesman, Greg.

Jake

Yeah, you can do whatever you want.

Jess

Awesome. So as he, like, says that he's not going to fund us and, like, we can go fuck ourselves or whatever, I tell him that he must wander around this building until he has counted. Every stone that makes up the building. If it's stone. If it's wood, every wooden plank.

Jake

Yeah. Yo, are you guys inside? Did you guys come inside?

Jess

I went outside, told the android, came inside with the android.

Jake

Okay.

Jake

And party.

Jake

Anybody watching outside? Is it like, or did you guys come into this group or you get split?

Rich

Ashley and Donovan are outside.

Jake

I'll say that, yeah. They're outside after everyone got out the first time.

Jess

Did I just...

Jake

Yeah, you cast it.

Jess

cursing him.

Jess

No, I just meant did I stir shit? Is there an alarm that goes off silently in all the guards' ears or something?

Jake

Oh no, but the workers inside see you cast it on them.

Jess

Oh, dude, I thought he was alone in this building. I didn't know he had workers. Oh, wait, I knew he had workers. I just thought they were in the back, you know, like in that back room you mentioned.

Jake

No man, it's a few.

Rich

in that pack room you mentioned.

Jake

No, they're not in front. They're stress-tested and pulled the rugs. It's a giant workshop.

Jess

Okay. Well, I say it in front of them.

Jake

What was that?

Jess

You can technically say something to someone, right? No, this is a magical realm. They know I actually cursed this motherfucker.

Jake

Yeah, you'd be like, you know, you're fucking, you're doing it up. It's a spell. Verbal components.

Jess

Never mind.

Jess

Okay, I would like to rescind that.

Jess

I thought they were in the back.

Jake

I can't take you guys anywhere, man. you guys like well i don't like this i'm just walking to this town for free cast spells of this poor guy

Jake

You guys are crazy.

Jake

Lit Fuse

Jake

I'm going to make a deal with this guy and then blow it off and tell him to fuck himself. Yeah.

Jess

I mean, technically, I just condemned him to counting all the boards that built his building. He would have gotten it done. It just would have been a pain in the ass.

Jake

So you would have been bending somebody to your will off of the powers and time and spells you learned to take it because you didn't like the way he processed business.

Jess

I didn't say it was awful good.

Jake

which was fair

Jess

Because he took away the entire deal. Because we, like, I don't know, no one brought up all of us pooling our shit together. He went zero to 60 and then 60 to zero, in my opinion, in my character's opinion.

Jake

So that's how you treat people to try to do you favors? Wow, Jess.

Jake

I'm just kidding. They're spells. Use them. Fuck these people.

Jess

Fuck this guy.

Jess table talk

extortionist flavor.

Jake

He's just ignorant. He doesn't know that automatons have souls.

Jake

He was a mage. He'd magically make these rugs instead of working with his hands. He's a union, dude. I'm just kidding. I don't know.

Jess

Ignant.

Jake

He's blue-collar.

Jess

Five kids.

Jess table talk

Real talk, though, how many players have we lost? I feel like... Three people are talking. Four people.

Rich table talk

That may have passed out. That Nutty pops in occasionally.

Nutty table talk

He's up in the background. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Pat's gone.

Jake table talk

Well, we still do stuff in the town. Race is not for a couple of days. Not to mention, I'm going to need the whole next week to create the race.

Jess table talk

We'll see. Well, yeah. Let's touch base.

Jake table talk

Because if you guys are going to be off, I want everybody here for the race.

Jess table talk

It would suck to miss stories.

Jake table talk

Doing a live D&D game.

Jess table talk

Do it live.

Rich table talk

Do it live. Still got all those dice. Waiting.

Jess table talk

All those days.

Jake table talk

Fuck it.

Jake table talk

The race is going to take like two days to complete.

Rich table talk

to gaming.

Jess table talk

gaming days to like

Jake table talk

No. Hopefully it takes two sessions. I want it to take two sessions. I want it to be that good.

Jess table talk

Play.

Jake table talk

Because I have...

Jake table talk

So there's like eight races. I got to make up like each spells for each person on that thing.

Jake table talk

I got to do a tournament bracket for it. So to see who's getting knocked off. It's going to be sick.

Jess

Should I put up my boat?

Jake

Yeah, he could have put up the bonus, Cliral.

Jess

Yeah, but also, like, I don't know, I just don't trust anyone with my boat. What if he's like, here it is, and makes a replica, and it's not my boat, you know?

Jake

He's like, we fucked it. I'm sorry if you can describe my voice.

Jess

You know?

Ozan

I thought about the boat too. I just didn't think it was a great idea to give our mobility to this guy.

Jake

And shawla.

Jake

It's a thing. Pack and make anything fly. You can fucking trash can live. Fly. Everybody on the trash can live.

Jess

I know, man. My character... Once had to resist the call and like assert her autonomy. So I. The slavery thing is just like, oh, man, no bueno. I had to. assert.

Rich

assert.

Ozan

Yeah, well, my character happens to be lawful good, so he's with you on that.

Jess

okay, well, you know, We're just getting to know each other, man.

Rich

just getting the notes on Yeah, sorry, dude. Didn't know.

Ozan

We did just wipe out

Rich

One of those like, and don't like being sold. Didn't like the concept of getting sold.

Ozan

Just the thought of us losing the race and then with our heads down going to Greg to deliver our party member. Here you go, Greg.

Jake

I mean, I'm a man of my word. I'm a man of my father told me never to squelch on a bet.

Ozan

As promised. Yep.

Jess

It's true, we could have just taken that fucking, the winnings and the rug and left town.

Jake

Yeah, technically, if you're lawful good, right, if you're a good person,

Jake

Is lying about giving somebody a slave a good thing?

Jake

Or are you just not a man of your word, helps it on your bet. So it goes against you.

Ozan

I mean, first of all, you're dealing with a slaver, so I feel like any chance to fuck him up, probably leaning good-ish.

Jess table talk

GG guys

Rich table talk

Yeah.

Ozan table talk

All right. Thanks, Jake.

Jake table talk

Not a problem.

Nutty table talk

50 G's.

Rich table talk

Seriously.

Jake table talk

Yeah, we got the race coming up. You guys are going to find a comprehend language. I would have been...

Rich table talk

Thank you for accommodating the conference of languages.

Jess table talk

Seriously, gang, we didn't burn anything down this time. Solid RP for like four hours straight.

Nutty table talk

Came close?

Jess table talk

GG. I almost burned something down, but I didn't. Thank you, Ozone.

Jake table talk

Richard, we was right there and I was like, I was the whole, I can't say anything. I have to not say stuff. And it hurts.

Jake table talk

I was like, there we go. I was like, fuck yeah, walking into a new city and nuking that shit. I was like, you're crazy. Nobody's been nothing but nice to everybody. And they're just going to come. And I was like, fucking light them up. See what happens.

Jess table talk

God damn it.

Jake table talk

Pat tripped an alarm on his way in here. You think that alarm just you think it's just a car alarm like

Jess table talk

Real flammable, real fast.

Jake table talk

Pat's going into fucking places.

Pat table talk

Mm-hmm.

Jake table talk

With a group. You guys are hilarious.

Jess table talk

It became very fraught very quickly.

Jake

Hey, you guys remember the names you signed in with?

Jess

Well, enjoy your... What?

Nutty

Why does that matter?

Jake table talk

Nothing. I don't know.

Jake table talk

It doesn't.

Nutty table talk

I think I'm Bertha.

Jake table talk

Yes.

Jess table talk

I'm a deez nuts.

Ozan table talk

Yeah, bend over.

Jake table talk

Okay.

Jake table talk

All right, see you guys in a week. Oh.

Ozan table talk

All right. Good night.

Jake table talk

No.

Jess table talk

Good night. Have a good night.

Jake table talk

Yeah, Mr. Nettie, would you stay on the call for me?

Nutty table talk

What's up? Hello? Can you hear me?

Jake table talk

Yeah, of course you can hear everybody.

Jake table talk

Oh, we just all said goodnight, Rich.

Jess table talk

I'm just saying goodnight. I just want to say bye.

Jake table talk

David?

Nutty table talk

What's up?

Jake table talk

I said gaming, not Gaither. Or gay man.

Nutty table talk

Yeah, down for some gaming.

Nutty table talk

Make it a magic deck.

Nutty table talk

What gaming were you doing?

Jake table talk

Whatever you want, man.

Nutty table talk

I'm down for whatever. Let me know.

Jake table talk

General shit

Nutty table talk

I don't think I've played that before.

Nutty table talk

it. I played a lot of general shit.

Jake table talk

Play a lot of...

Nutty table talk

Well, that one game is probably out that you wanted to play.

Jake table talk

No auto-recording. How do you say this?

Nutty table talk

Get the fuck out of here, Craig.

Jake table talk

I'm trying.

Jake table talk

There you go.
