Also heard as: Pop Object, the air elemental, the ship's elemental
A large air elemental captured and permanently, forcibly bound to the party’s ship to give it flight. Screams constantly in Mori Yoshinari’s mind after he bonds with it as captain; controlled through charisma-based pain/threat domination.
History
- Summoned, bound, and fed into a brass framework over two days by a Neo enchantress for 100,000 gold 2020-01-20 @ 02:29:27–02:33:00.
- Mori Yoshinari speaks the command word “Pop Jack” to permanently bond with it 2020-01-20 @ 02:44:28.
- Piloted via charisma-based pain/threat control to fly the ship to a capital city 2020-01-20 @ 02:53:03.
- The ship is kept permanently parked thirty feet up by this point in the campaign “to dodge time wizards,” implying ongoing routine use of the elemental’s flight 2020-04-13 @ 01:01:11.
DM notes (spoiler)
Elemental language is called “Orin,” and most elementals (and some monstrous races) culturally view elemental enslavement as abhorrent — a detail the party has been told in-game but which underscores the moral weight of binding Pop Jack permanently 2020-01-20 @ 02:37:03.
Unresolved
Whether Pop Jack is ever freed, or remains bound to the ship through the rest of the recorded campaign, is not addressed after Arc I.
