the city

The city is a well-made, Manhattan-like multicultural hub, with buildings made with elvish, dwarven, human and gnome craftsmanship.†† Colt Hopper says the city is not huge, though it is large.†

Layout

The city sits on the mountain face in a half oval, its back against a giant wall that has a little waterfall on it.† It is a giant rectangle with a smaller rectangle next to it on the mountain face, where the tallest spires are.† The city is multi-walled, with an outer wall and an inner wall, and the inner layer is covered in a giant blue dome of electric light.† The walls are about 40 feet high, with guards at the main gate and on top of them.† A river runs through the city, so it has fresh water.† Jace Gandolfini says that out-of-towners pay the city money for something everybody pays for, and that the money goes to good schools and water filtration.†

The fire

In the middle of the day clouds form and the sunny day turns slowly dark gray and muddy.† A ritual reaches a crescendo, the air is thickened, a rip is torn open between dimensions, and a sudden whirling wind sweeps through, extinguishing the lights.† Screams and shrieks of demonic presence grow through the city.† The Dynamo went black and shot onto the ground, and then the whole city burnt.†† One of the men says the city is on fire and asks whether anybody knows any water spells.† Nobody can breathe and half the people are suffocating.†

Aftermath

People move out of the burning city in an evacuation with nothing planned and no help coming.† The town has since cooled down, with medics out and white mages trying to control the city.†
